time to go...

<S> all the virtual flyers

Ive cancelled my account. Many things have made my mind up to leave and if you got a second ill tell you why.

the main reason all stems from the pricing fiasco from last year.I waited for quite a few months for some sign from HTC over their promise to 'look into' a possible reduction in price.Nothing has happened or even been mentioned since.Im sorry but whilst i think the price was reasonable i find it unacceptable that others pay less, maketing research or not you offered  those customers who showed no interest in staying a 'prize'of sorts in the reduced rate.Ive been here since beta testing and there has been nothing in the way of reward for being a long term supporter.

ALso i find AH seems to be stuck in a basic 'checkers' type game with hardly any strategy involved. It has been the same way for so long im afraid ive just got bored with it.I greatly urge HTC to concentrate their efforts on adding more to do in terms of tactical targets or just plain new targets like trains or bridges.Whether this is an unfair criticism i dont know because obviously ive been playing a long time and no one can be expected to cater for such a long term player but im sorry its not enough anymore for me.
Id  have prefered to see a historic arena rather than the dueling arena which is basically a condensed and sparsley populated MA but without any strategy.Good though it was for the few times i flew there there.
Htc have produced a fantastic product of that there is no doubt but this makes it even harder to accept the way it seems to be heading.away from the realistic stuff and more towards the quick fix furball type game.
I downloaded AH because i saw in a magazine (PCgamer) a small reveiw about it.I tried it out and found it incredibly hard.I had never played any other online sim game but even though it was so hard i was hooked by the realistic handleing of the planes and i wanted to master it.Well 2 years on almost I still havent 'mastered' the planes but as for the 'game' well theres nothing else to do, and i think this is the problem. Those that claim a little added difficulty will drive customers away are full of toejam HTC.

I wont go on about other stuff like the mg151s but i have tried to explain about what i feel is a problem but its been made quite clear thats the way the allied flyers want them to stay.I say anything, its a whine.well ok, call it what you want, but i think i was merely seeing a big discrepency in effectiveness of the guns between the USAAF/RAF guns and LWs guns and the constant childlike name calling on the bbs for questioning anything related to LW planes just pissed me off.Thats the kind of thing that drives customers away if you ask me.

so all those who claim the game is right how it is, you have got your way   most that fly LW have left.Im sure its because of that 'feeling' ( well p51 WAS the greatest plane of all time right?).I flew Allied planes 1st day of this tour to double check i was not imagining the difference but unfortunately it just confirmed it.cant be bothered to explain as ive posted stuff on it before and as usual 'certain' vocal members say its whining or the model is exactly correct.how are you so sure?
mistakes are made, 190a5 FM , roll rate of typhoon, weight of p47-d11,etc so dont be to quick in future to claim the numbers match what we see.slight errors in the programme can produce odd effects and im sure 'something' is wrong with the cannons on LW stuff.

ah well you probably dont give a sh*t so ill just say cya all and <S> for all the fun ive had flying and fighting with and against you all.

Hey Hazed!

Daniko and I were talking about this just the other day on H2H. New types of stratgies need to be available for the people looking for that type of entertainment in a combat flight simulator.

Truck convoys on road and bridges, smaller and seperate fuel and ordance depots.  The destruction of these will effect the surrounding airfields and ports.  Transport convoys on the open ocean to deliver supplies to ports.

I mentioned these type of additions over a year ago but no joy.  It seems people who want this type of additions are a minority and probably won't get listened to.  Ya gota wonder what HTC will do after all the planes and ships run out!

But then again that is HTC's business.  They need to do what is best to grow the player base and in turn grow their company.

Aces High is still the best bet out there for on-line enjoyment for a WWII combat flight simulator.

Hazed you are another oldtimer that is leaving.  I could tell by your post you were getting aggrivated with the playability.  You may just need a break for awhile.  It helps.  Try to keep things in perspective.

You were always a joy to fly with and I always felt safer with you in the air around me.  You were a true squadMATE!

Salute and Best of Luck!

To say that "most that fly LW have left" is one helluva stretch.

A few guys with major gameplay issues left, because they were unhappy with the product as it's presented. That makes complete sense. To each his own. Hit the cancel button, drop HTC a email why if it makes you feel better.

It's the leaving and posting about it with subtle hints that everyone has "gotten their way", that HTC is somehow marketing their product wrong as a conspiracy against you and doomed to furball failure, and the "woe is the oppressed poor me" that garners you no sympathy from me anyway.

I know your tired of the LW whine remarks, but jeez, you couldn't even NOT mention the mg151's vs. USAAF guns, P51's, etc... on your way out.

None of that is name calling, it's just the way see it.

Calling the 9./JG54 a bunch of popsicles would be name calling.

<S>!

AH community has lost a class act. I hope that this is just a temporary thing. Won't be the same barrelling down on a 109 not having that nervous buzz in the back of my head... "hope it aint Hazed..."

Hazed..

<S!> Bro. We've had some great fights.. some good times. Speaking as one simmer to another, it's class pilots like yourself that make the sim enjoyable... you leaving will make it less so.

Come back soon..

Hazed!  <S>  was a pleasure flying against you, and chatting with you in the MA.  You're a fine gentleman, and AH will miss you greatly.

Unfortunately hazed, and I fly the 190 99% of the time, the Mauser cannons weren't in the same league with hispanos.  the hispano 20mm projectile weighed 4.4 ounces, whereas the MG/151 merely weighed 3.5 ounces, so therein lies the reason why Hispanos did more damage.  The muzzel velocity of the MG/151 was about 2500 ft./sec, and the Hispanos velocity was approximately 2750 ft/sec.  both had a firing rate of approximately 750 rounds/min.  We who fly 190s', 109s' etc, just have to fly better <G>

Hope to see you back soon!
