Need X45 help

I searched for this but did not find anything directly related to this problem.

I have a question on the X45 trim. I am trying to use the rollers on the throttle side for trim, Thumb for pitch, and finger for roll. I notice that the pitch trim is like it should be, move the knob a little, trim moves a little. Move the knob a lot, trim moves a lot. center is center trim. However, on the roll trim, move the roller just a tiny bit one way or the other, and the trim moves to the full right or left, without stopping. In other words it is all or nothing, left or right roll. I was thinking that this was a bug, but I posted it on the bug page some time ago and there have been 2 patches since then. So is there something up with my settings or stick?

Yes I read the post from Eagler on the X45, it does mention this to a point, but said nothing about a fix.

need to calibrate it along with all stick axises (is that a word?).

also make sure in the programming software (saitek) it is set to analog.

SLED, what OS and X45 interface program you are using?

I use Saitek SGE 3.0 interface with my Win98SE OS.

Ail & Elv trims are programmed to the throttle mouse-stick and rudder trim is programmed to the throttle rudder rocker with "Band" function. I have a separate rudder for feets (Logitech FFB formula pedals).

I am using XP Pro, and I don't have the Saitek softwear loaded (you talking about the profile editor right?). I just let XP detect it and use the Drivers the XP has. So I am just using XP drivers and the JS settings editor that is in AHII. I don't see anywhere in those programs where you can calibrate roll trim. So do I need to install the Saitek softwear to get it to work?

yes by all means.. load the Saitek software in advanced mode. play around and youy will see just how versital it is. 90 some buttons available and full programability of them.

when programming set plain keyboard keystrokes like "B" for bombs. then in AH remove ALL joystick mappings. the saitek then performs the keystroke instead of a DX button command.

unlimited possibilities then. even delayed strokes in groups. like:

/[pause].[pause]s a l v o {space} 3 {enter}

and with 1 button press you can set your salvo.

you'll get the idea.

Just remember to disconnect the Joystick from the USB port BEFORE installing the Saitek drivers. It will prompt you when to plug it in.

Ok, I got the roll trim to operate like I want it to. Calibrateing the roller knobs did the trick. I will mess with the saitek profile editor later.
