What is a good fillet knife for saltwater fish.................specific ally snapper,cobia,grouper etc. One that can be resharpened via a wetstone etc

Nothing beats a global knife for edge and persistency of edge.

Buy 10 ok but cheap knives, put two in your tackle box six in the boat and two in the kitchen.

When they get dull from cut bait etc. chuck em out.

If you loose them or forget to clean them and thay rust, no big loss.

I have tried them all and the cheap ones can be sharpened faster and work fine.

I have lost more knives then I have used up or worn out.

Now when I say cheap I dont mean $2 knives, Repalla is a good cheap one

WalMart Repalla's around 6 to 8 bucks

10X8= 80 or a great knife for 75 bucks, your choice.

Scooter has the right idea.. You buy a nice knife and lose it / destroy it.. You out big bucks..

Any knife at wallmart when sharpened will do fine.. Technique is the factor unless your using a wooden spoon to fillet your fish...

A good steak knife will work fine if you know what your doing...

Angus beat me to it (How do you post photos on here anyway?) but I sold Cutco knives and they have an excellent fillet knife. basically, any sharp knife can do the job, it you're handy with cutlery, a serrated edge can do wonders, but if you're a novice, you can leave a lot of good meat on the bone if you're not careful.
