Military power and engine overheating
« on: June 08, 2004, 04:10:00 AM »
While normal power setting may be considered safe, substained military power should result into an engine overheat sooner or later in most planes. We already have planes with 10 mins for WEP, but there are some others that had no more than 16 mins for substained military power at level before overheating, probably less in a substained climb at lo speed. IMO, power settings should not be affecting range alone, lets think about our very fast bombers, flying all the time at full military and being little or not concerned at all about range.
