There are enough players that live within a few hours of here that we could pull it off with enough planning and notice, like say a month or two from now. People who already live here wont be put off by the July or August temperatures :D

Well not at my house..:lol I have a house full as it is. BUT , I would be willing to try and kind of coordinate a date like in July maybe..Late this month maybe. Pick a spot in Austin...All meet up there for like dinner or something. Maybe meet at a park and BBQ? Kind of whatever yall think or would like. Im open to ideas. Everyone BYOB and Food if its a cookout. Lawn Chairs and AH stories. I mean just whatever yall think.

Well heres an Idea....

Maybe do a nights of Texas Ops. Like on a Thursday say..or Fri Sat..whatever....All take a break from squads...be on a side we all agree on before hand and Do Fighter sweepes for a couple hours or more....Then if it was a weeknight...say meet at a Restaurant for Dinner and a few Beers or whatever.

Say...Thursday the 17th of June...8:00 Central time...All be Knights or Bishes or Rooks.....Fly til say 11:00 Central doing Fighter Sweeps of bases. Maybe even go to the DA and have a Free For all...Choose sides and duke it out for "Texas Killers" or something.

Then say Saturday the 19th...6:00 pm....Dinner at a restaurant we all like.

Comments?  Suggestions?

There's a moderately sized hotel that is very close Dell's corporate headquarters that is used to handling groups of people and giving them an internet connection. I attended a LAN party there a few months ago and it seemed like they had a good setup. I can call them and get pricing for  a room for 20 (?) people and say 36 hours of a fractional T1, and about 10 110v spiders spread out, and some bench style tables with chairs if you'd like. But there's a whole bunch to put together for what youo are planning as NEXT WEEKEND:eek:

We'll need a 24-48 port network switch and I just sold mine on ebay :(

I'll wanna talk to skuzzy too, jut to see if there's anything special to ask for WRT the internet connection. A point-to-point will be prohibitively expensive.

Speaking of which, how much are you guys willing to spend per head? Who will need a room? I doubt we'll get any discount group rates, short notice and low numbers.

We'll also need some folks to bring much longer than standard ethernet cables

Well..I was just thinking eating. I wouldnt need a room as I am 5 minutes or so from Dell. It doesnt have to be next weekend. It can be anytime we want it.

Edbert seems to know how to get things in order. I leave it in his capable hands. I surely haven't a clue how to set it all up. Not to mention I have family here and busy as all get out.

my email is in my profile...lemme know what is going on.

Conroe.

I could probably swing by.  I would need a room for myself, my wife and baby daughter.  It would defintely have to be on a weekend.  And now that I think about it...my room could be a single, the wife and daughter would sleep on the bed, I'll be drunk and could sleep on the floor, in the tub, out in the hall, doesn't really matter for me.

Of course, we would have to have some sort of 2 vs 2 competition or 1 vs 1 or something similar...and lot's of drinks.

Ooooooo...and if hitech shows up then maybe we can have a mini-evil con mission.  Maybe Pyro, Superfly or others could also fly in with hitech.
