Considering that we have much longer distances to cover, you bet we're bleating! The UK is roughly the size of Oregon.

eh ??  How many times do you do cross country trips longer than 800 miles then??

Funnily enough we don't just drive until we hit the coast and stop for the rest of the year - we actually manage to go all over.  my average mileage is 20 - 25,000,  been to europe in the car 6 times in the last 12 months.

Get used to it - your fuel price is artificially low. Wait til China starts taking as much as you do in the US and see where the gas price goes.

June National Geographic has a good article on it - page 80.

Ah - you're just the man I need to talk to! I could use some info about getting cheap crossings. A friend has recommended http://www.speedferries.com - but their only route is Dover/Boulogne. Just ran a price check: Two people two-way passage with normal size car = £60. Is that good?

sparks... nooo... your fuel is artificialy high.  Most of the cost is tax... tax you can see and the tax to produce.   It is part and parcel to your great socialism experiment.  enjoy.

We pay about 35 cents a gallon ourselves in tax on fuel that goes no where sensible like fixing roads.

oh.. the car.. looks like a suicide door lincoln of late 60's vintage.  not bad cars but not in the same league as the 300c.

I think CrowMAW is referring to a film of the same name. That would be James Brolin holding the gun.

I always remember that paaarp-p-p-paaarp sound the car made. Never did figure out if anyone was in the driving seat!

The new Chrysler is very nice. It reminds me the french 'Facel-Vega' from 1956 powered by a Chrysler 4.8L 250HP engine.
