I need more information, but I can tell you  that you are CPU limited and will not be able top push the 9800Pro to its performance limit.

However, you can also crank up the resolution of the card to the maximum that your monitor will support and will probably maintain the same frame rate you have now.

What is the frame rate?  And at what resolution?

my fr in ah2 is about 40 and was with my geforce 2...... as well the resolution is the default 1024 x 786

sliders are set at lowest quality best performance

I also think my problem is I have no AGP drivers for my intel chipset... could this be a porblem?

There are generic AGP drivers for the Intel chipset, but if you have not loaded the INF files for the motherboard, you are probably being restricted to a lower level of performance.

Still,..you are CPU limited.  Tha 1.7 P4 is the old Willamette core, which was pretty slow.

When you removed the NVidia video drivers, did you use a third party driver cleaner to make sure the drivers are removed?  That can also effect performance.

You should be able to set the in-game resolution to 1600x1200 and have the same frame rate,..only it will look better.

If you have a name brand motherboard, you should be able to get those files from the manufacturer's WEB site.

You might be able to order a replacment CD with all the tools/utilites from the manufacturer as well.

Sometimes a simple removal of the video drivers does not actually clean the drivers from the system/registry.  It depends on what version of the driver you had.
Early drivers would leave a mess behind when you removed them.  Newer ones seem better, but when switching to/from ATI/NVidia it is usually best to use a third party driver cleaner to insure all remnants of the driver are removed.

What brand of motherboard do you have? Or is it an OEM computer (HP, Compaq, Sony, Toshiba...)?

I have dinner with the family in a bit and may not get back to the board until late tonight.  Someone else might have to jump in here and lend a hand.

The 9800Pro can handle a CPU upwards to a 3Ghz Pentium 4.  Not sure how to equate that to an AMD CPU.

If you are looking for a video card that you can later upgrade the motherboard and stay with that video card, the 9800Pro would be a good choice, regardless of what CPU you have.
If you are thinking about upgrading the video card and motherboard in the near future, then save the money and get the 9600XT.

Diference between 2 of them is about 50$, but i domt like to spend this extra money if i will not get better performance.....
