I haven't done any thorough testing, this may be working as intended but... I took an oil hit in a Typhoon today and flew a full sector on the deck and still had enough oil left for another 5 to 10 miles under full power and some wep. Only reason this seemed odd to me is due to the fact that a Typhoon with an oil hit in AH1 was good for about 30 seconds before the engine melted.
I have no idea if this is deliberately modelled that way or if it's just the Typhoon and not other planes in the set, more thorough testing is required...
