I noticed that you cannot switch positions in a Panzer (I assume it is that way for all vehicles) when another teammate joins as a gunner.  I was locked into the pinto gun and could not get to the driver position.  The teammate who joined could get to the driver position but I still could not get to the maingun.

This is true in AH1 too if someone joins you while you are in a gun position - but usually they are unable to get to the driver's position.  If you receive a join request, move to the driver position before accepting it; in the above situation, all you needed to do was ask him to return to the tower (.ef or click tower on clipboard) while you move back to the driver position, and then rejoin.
