Anyone here a diver?
« on: June 10, 2004, 05:24:59 AM »
I'm in the middle of my NAUI scuba certification right now.  Having a blast so far.  Is anyone here a certified scuba diver?

Had to swim 220 yards and tread water for 10 minutes yesterday to prove my swimming competency.  Was actually pretty tiring. Swimming with split-fins is much much easier.

Very interested in freshwater diving, are there any lakes clear enough to see fish in (around Kentucky)?

Offical muff diver here.  Qualified in 1981 (I think that was the year).  My favourite pastime ever since.
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

Whats wrong with being PADI certified? I got certified in 98, and dove the keys for about a week. Havnt dove since. :(

Its a shame too, because I really enjoyed it.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

P.S. I live NOWHERE Nere any deep water, but a block away is a diving store. Asked my neighbor about it, he is a diver and said they filled an old quarry around my way and dumped old helicopters, a few ships and planes and stuff. He said he LOVES it.

I know i spelled near wrong, in case Hitech reads this post:)

Absolutly nothing, it's a bit easier basic OW cert. course than NAUI though, IMO.

I have been down a few times ;)

Curval, but have you earned your "red-wings" yet? Mine have stars now.

My most recent exciting dive was with big bull sharks at Bat Island on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the Gulf of Papagayo.  No cage or bait of course. There were about 15 of them. They were big ones to. I'd like to go to the Cocos Islands sometime.

Bill Beards Diving Safaris was a good operation.

Same here. Many of my dive buds have gone and every one of them that did has a pic of themselves in a cockpit.

One of these days.
