Add New Vehicle Commander Position

I'd like to propose a new ground vehicle position called the Commander position.  It would be in the cupula and would have a clear unobstructed view.  The advantage of this position is that it would give the commander the ability  to scan all 360 degrees rather than being slaved to a gun position and only being able to rotate thru approx. 180 - 240 degrees because of the gun rotation limit.   With that, I think it would be very cool, AND realistic, that at this position the Vehicle Commander would be able to use binoculars to scan long distances - farther than you can now with the normal zoom mode.  This change would add more depth to the vehicle gameplay and be realistic at the same time.  In that position one would be the most vulnerable to attack.  I think this would be fairly simple to implement on the part of HiTech as they already have multiple positions and they're just adding one more.  The position would no longer be limited by rotation and you would "stand" higher off the upper turret for an unobstructed view.  While in the binocular mode a binocular "mask" would appear to the player with perhaps range marks indicated.

Use your view keys to look around, you are not limited to the mg traverse.

I have done that but don't like it.   Maybe because my views are set up as snapshot views so I have to hold the button.  I'd like to be able to smoothly rotate around and stop at any position.  Still, it's missing the binocular mode which I think is needed.  The zoom just doesnt cut it and I know I personally have much difficulty picking out ground targets from a distance which makes me not want to ride in a GV.

hmm, i thought the tank commander IS the person who mount the pintle gun.

Would be more realistic and usefull to just give all AAMGs 360% traverse.

add the commander position, take away the gamey AA pintle gun, or make it VERY vunerable to air attack imo.

who in their right mind would be sitting out of turret shooting at typhs, IL2's or whatever while they are strafing.

Hmm, Pflugerville, is that in Heimlich County? :)

btw, for super-zoom from the commanders position (or any other for that matter) go to a cv group, jump on any gun, zoom it full and exit before mounting your tank.  Heck in your gunner position zoomed in you might be able to spot that Tiger in hull defilade position on the ridge 2500 yards away, and be able to target the mantlet of his main gun.  [thats the "collar" where the gun meets the turret]
