I haven't seen the footage of the funeral, so it's entirely possible that the Clintons made tulips out of themselves there. But the fact that I've now seen this picture used out-of-context several times to demonstrate their poor behavior raises alarm bells with me.

Well, I watched it. And I saw both of the Clintons with their eyes closed several times during the ceremony, during the eulogies, not during prayers. This is not to say that they did not close their eyes during prayers, but rather that the cameras were not on them during prayers. The cameras were on them during eulogies, and Hilary was far worse than Bill, as she repeatedly closed her eyes and at least gave the impression of nodding off. Bill looked as if he'd had no sleep, and had some sort of problem sitting still. He was either squirming or gesticulating any time he was not sitting with his eyes closed.

There was nothing boring about the funeral, it was a rather moving experience.

Just want to point out to both sides of the isle that this wasnt just about Reagan But the Office of the Presidency of the United States as well.
Like him or not Agree with him or not.
This was our president And respect for the office should be observed reguardless of which president it was.
The funeral of a President is not the time or the place for partisanship

Ya know what I was looking forward to...ANYTHING being said by the former Soviet President...but alas, he remained silent. I think the most fitting eulogy would've been by his old nemesis, but that is me.

There were several others so it seems bi-partisan to me.

1 yes tilt, please give an example

2 Have to give Bill Clinton points for style, he looked like he was deep in thought or prayer, though by the third camera shot it was obviously neither. Hillary on the other hand was quite halarious with the whole head sinking and snaping

3 I thought all the eulogies at the national service were very appropriate and well done, though Lady Thatchers was the best.

4 At the California service I particularly liked Michael Reagans speech about his father, and particularly disliked Ron Reagans decision to throw in subtle political points in, because his views had always differed from his fathers, and his father was who this was supposed to be about.

Ron Jr's speech was excellent. Micheal seemed to be overly animated and trying too hard. Patty is still a hippy. All three were well done however, Ronnie should be proud.

BTW... Did California dial in a sunset for RR or what!

Amazing how perceptions can differ as my view of his sons is exactly opposite to yours. I enjoyed them all however.

I watched Jimmy Kimmel last night. He poked fun at quite a few of the people at the funeral as well. Bill Clinton wasn't the only one that had trouble staying tuned in.

Todd, I did see the footage. The picture is representative of their behavior during some of the funeral and all of W's speech.

As previously stated, Hillary was caught on camera doing the "jerk" awake head movement and Bills mouth dropped open at one point, afterwhich he wiped his face in "exhaustion."

To the viewer, it was painfully apparent that they werent exactly "praying."

I've attended more than my fare share of funerals, and having your eyes closed during a eulogy is no big deal.

I usually do. I'm not sleeping, it's usually during the better speakers, and its because they are usually describing the man well enough that I'm actually picturing the things they are saying in my mind.

you morn your way at let others morn theirs. if every there was a time where people ought to be free to act in the way they feel is appropriate and not have to worry what arm-chair-quarterbacks are thinking of their actions, it's at a damn funeral.

get a life of your own.

Youve got some funny standards for acceptable behavior. Morning is totally different from sleeping in my mind - could be wrong - but I doubt it.
