Why'd anyone fly a slow, lumbering Ju87G, when 50cals on USAAF planes and 20mms on N1K2s and Typhoons still crack panzers open easily?
I'd understand its use as a Tiger-buster,.. but think about this: a free anti-tank plane which anybody can fly and go kamikaze into a Tiger with guns blazing..?
So if the Ju87G comes free, who's gonna use the Tiger? At least lobbing bombs and rockets take patience and skill.. but anyone can jump in and throw 3~4 shots of those powerful anti-tank shells, before they auger.
The only merit a Tiger holds at 50 point cost is that its a lot tougher to take out by strafing alone, compared to the Panzer. Also, relatively more resistent to near-fall bomb blasts, and is damaged only by direct hits.
However, if people can conviniently up a free Tungsten-core 37mm shell plane, then the Tiger loses all meaning as a perk vehicle.
...
So, if the Ju87G is ever to be implemented;
a) the Ju87G should be perked
or
b) the Tiger perks should be lowered
...
A very nice gameplay concession, would be to make Panzers and Tigers impervious to 50cal and 20mm fire. Then the IL2, Hurri2D, and the Ju87G would really become welcome planes.
Ofcourse, in turn, make the Panzer/Tiger damageable,(much more easily damaged than it is now when strafed), when the pintle gun is armed, and hits are received INTO the open cupola..
Case solved!
