This thread is filled with dicks. Complete morons. Those who wish to honor Reagan and the things he has done, I salute you.

Those of you salamanders who are going to continue to bash a great man such as Reagan I can only hope the worst things for you.

every single one of those so called quotes is either a flat fabrication or distorted version of the truth or simply taken out of context.

typical lefty tactic.  say a bunch of outrageous stuff and hope that the damage is done before you get caught or that people never read the rebuttal.

did you see where he used for sources?

Reminds me of those "quotes" people often post that are supposed to be from AlGore, but were actually said by Dan Quail.

Reagan will always be remembered as a great man. Those who so angrily denounce him will always be viewed as petty. That's just how it is and no amount of whining about it is gonna change it.

never hear these liberal morons in the real world talk smack like they do on the net.   A damned good reason why too.

How about this one, Lazs? Is it out of context?  You're old enough to remember him saying it.  I both heard and read it.

In November 1983, Reagan told visiting Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir that he had served as a photographer in a U.S. Army unit assigned to film Nazi death camps. He repeated the story to Simon Wiesenthal the following February. Reagan never visited or filmed a concentration camp; he spent World War II in Hollywood, making training films with the First Motion Picture Unit of the Army Air Corps.

or this one?

"We did not--repeat, did not--trade weapons or anything else for hostages, nor will we," Reagan proclaimed in November 1986. Four months later, on March 4, 1987, Reagan admitted in a televised national address, "A few months ago, I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that's true, but the facts and the evidence tell me it is not."

At best, Reagan was an actor who projected warmth and friendship.  At worst, he was a pathological liar.  Imagine, lying about his military service record.  I expect pols to shade the truth when they're quibbling w/other politicians.  But his freaking service record?

Instead of venting my anger over the disgraceful behavior of some people here... instead I will borrow a quote from the Presidents eulogy over Ronald Reagan, in the hope that it will encourage you to reflect over your actions and your own personality.

As he showed what a president should be, he also showed us what a man should be.

He was a courtly, gentle and considerate man, never known to slight or embarrass others.

Ronald Reagan, may you rest in peace. You will always be  loved, remembered and missed.

Hmmm, do those of you that say Reagan is being "dishonoured" in this thread realise that it wouldn't be Estes that is dishonouring Reagan.  All he is doing is posting quotes.  If Reagan is being dishonoured, it is by his own words.

Estes has a right to display those quotes. Nonetheless it is a display of poor form considering the time frame, much like the Clintons recently.

The same type of quotes could be gathered on any president in the world if one went looking for such historical information.

Hey Rogwar :)

Perhaps, but I don't recall a president other than Bush (maybe, not confirmed as yet) lying about his military service.  That's Bush Jr. of course, Bush Sr. is a rightfully decorated WW2 veteran.
