...Do Ya Still Love Em?

While I still see a lot of people attempting ho's in AH II it seems to me that I'm getting shot down a lot less by them.  Engine may get shot out or oil tank is hit but unless there is a fatal hit on the pilot the plane stays in the air.

It seems to me that this is the way it should be...more realistic.

Comments?

Regards, Shuckins/Leggern

Although I maneuver to avoid the classic non-turning HO I still hear people whine if I'm anywhere ahead of their 3 to 9 line when I take a high deflection shot.

Not to get on a rant, but here is the deal...  I can see why people have a problem with the straight & level, opposite direction HO shots.  Not much skill involved.  However, if you are not able to maneuver out of the opponents line of fire, that says something about your lack of skill.

In the real world if you are in a bad guys sights, you are going to take rounds (or missles).  This is regardless of the shot aspect.  There are NO RULES if he is inside his shot parameters for the weapon employed.  I guess your widow can whine about the HO attributes of the kill, but you are still dead and your lack of ability or SA put you there.

Take Away:  Try not to HO.  If you get a frontal aspect snapshot, take the shot and be proud of your kill.  What ever you do, don't whine about it when you get killed...  Unlike the real world, you can get another beer and hop into another airplane.

OBTW, Shuckins, I hope they did beef up the front of our planes...  There is a lot of metal up there and it should stop a few rounds.
