This list does not appear accurate.  There's no way living in LA is more expensive than San Francisco.  Hell, it almost costs more to rent a PO Box in Frisco then an apartment in LA.

A few more trailer parks would bring the cost of living WAY down in all those cities.

I saw a list once that listed San Fran as the #1 most expensive  US city.  Honolulu was # 2.

You guys probably get it even worse than us here on Oahu.  At least for gas prices and food.   Gas seems to average about $2.20/gal for 87, unless you fill up near the refineries on the Leeward coast or at Costco.  Housing?  We just sold our 584 sq. ft. 1 br/bt condo apt for $300k.  It's within 15 mins walking to downtown Honolulu.  In exchange we're getting a single family home in suburbial east Oahu... 1500 sq. ft. 4 br/2 bth, 5000 sq. ft. lot.

For a little under $600k.

I think medians here for single family is around $430k.

I paid $178k for 3800sqft under A/C, 4500sqft under roof on a lake in a gated community within a golfcourse in 1999.  We border the everglades.  Just apppraised out at $475k.  scares the tar outta me how real estate has gone up here.  gas is at around $2.05 per gallon 87 oct.  I could sell it but then all I could afford was a beercan at one the "mfg home parks"  So we's a stayin'.

Funny, Miami is cheaper than Brussels....Must be Storch's nearby presence that devaluated real estate a lot

Do you know what was the real reason for the big bad wolf blowing down the 3 little pigs home? They moved into the nieborhood and lowerd all the property values... :aok

Gas is about 2.00 - 2.50 here on the Big Island. It's rediculous. At costco its around 1.80 or something. 30 min drive from my house. BTW I'll probably be on Oahu in July.
