My handle is Ironious. I reactivated my account and have downloaded the latest file but haven't logged back in yet. Will likely do it tomorrow morning.

I was wrong, that is my login, my character is Samanzar, coorporation is Republic University.

Whew, lot to refresh myself on. Looks pretty much the same as it did when I played a year or so ago. You guys aware of any changes to the game in the last year?

heh, major ditto.  Went through the tutorial... starting out with the newbie missions right now.  Unfortunately, octavius was already taken.  My handle is "octardius" now.

And all I was trying to find is a skilltree to show me what I need to command my new industrial ship. :D

To bad their forum isn't available. I'd be sorely tempted to bait a hook let out some line there.

We as a species are in an arrested state of adolescence as insecure egos (mostly male) compete for unrestrained power and attention. Playing god, they manipulate life by splicing genes in a frenzy of womb envy. As profit-driven warmongers, they traffic in death. Defiling our habitat, the patriarchs seem to be recklessly inventing new ways to junk Earth like some inner city ghetto and venture off in sterile techno-womb machines for ever more vainglorious conquests on the cosmic plane.

Lots of changes since this time last year.

1. Ore distribution system changed.
2. Player-conquerable stations in 0,0 regions
3. Research agents added.
4. Highway system changed.
5. Ship manouvreability and speed now based on mass/inertia.
6. Class based speed mwds and ABs introduced.
7. Elite frigates (Covert Ops and Interceptors introduced)
8. No more cruise missiles on frigates or torpedoes on cruisers \0/
9. Large turret tracking nerfed thus forcing fleets to use frigates for defence against opposing frigates.
10. Sentry guns added to 0,4 to 0,1.
11. Deployable mobile warp disruptors introduced.
12. NPC faction ship AI vastly improved and kill bounties increased accordingly.
13. "Tech 2" technology stack introduced.
14. Game stability vastly improved.
15. Player attributes can now be enhanced via the use of cybernetic implants.

Probably more but that's what springs to mind at first. The changes to weapons and small ship fitting requirements have made PvP combat great.

A new player can be in a frigate and contributing to his side with a week or 2 of skill training. Teamwork and communication is now just as important as experience and/or having the biggest ship and guns. Case in point; on Sunday night, 4 of us from my corp took down a Scorpion class battleship (value 60-70 mil) from an opposing corporation using a pair of cheap cruisers and 2 frigates.

Thanks for the info Momus. Bought the industrial ship but didn't realize the diff between industry skill and the ship industrial skill. Savin' up to buy the needed skill.

It'll be a while before any of us can start a corp ;)  Until I gain a little more status, I'll be putting along.  Today was great progress though.  I bought a new ship (Tristan), outfitted it with increased cargo expanders, and tossed in two Miner 1's.  I mined for about 400k in one hour.  Thats not bad :)  Now that I have  cash flow, I'm investing in a ****load of skills.. starting with the Learning category for improved training.

I also joined a corp - many experienced vets willing to help out.

I talk to Furious online.  He is on the 14 day trial promotion.  I saw Iron on a few times in the past few days.

It's looking like I *might* be paying for this... I'm enjoying it.  We shall see.

It's your standard RPG.  Very broad:  HUGE universe, excellent PvP, excellent graphics, dynamic market, etc... and many many players out there willing to help ya get started.  Too much for one post :)

Corporations can be completely player driven.  Can you say corporate warfare? :)

If you're interested, check out their website:  http://www.eve-online.com .  Or go to some random gaming site and read a few reviews.

I'm loving the fact that we can learn skills while not logged in. God I remember how tiresome a chore it was to macro in UO, Having to set set up the endless UOA scripts. hehe and DAMN! 400k, jeez I thought I was on a role at 40k :P

I'm on my 2nd day of the 14 day trial. Still lonewolfing, but I think I've got the hang of it. Already bought me a merlin frigate, just can't fly it yet. (14 hours more for caldari frigate III)

Charactor name is Simanov.
