It's done. I will be sending the skin to HT in next day or 2 with hopes it will make the MA. The picture is really grainey because I had to use less colour to post it on the web. The real one looks alot better.

Here's the pic, or follow the link to see a bigger version of the same pic.

Looks nice.  Wish we had a Spitfire Mk VIII for it.

I'd use it on a Mk IX if I ever fly the Mk IX.

Pyro said they will allow MkVIII skins on MkIX because they so close.

Yes, I saw that.

However, our Merlin 61 Spit IX is really nothing like a Merlin 66 Spit VIII.

That is why I wished we had a Spit VIII for it.

I believe the "sharks teeth" went all the way up to the nose, instead of down.

I was working on the same plane many moons ago, but gave up after the sharks teeth looked gap-toothed coming around the front...lol

I went looking at some pics, And the mouth and eyes need to move up.  And the "ace of spades" was a bit bigger also.

Beside what Waffle mentioned, it looks great. I love that outworn touch.

karnak, you have no idea how much I would like a MkVIII in this game. My uuncle flew MkVIII HF and LF in the desert and felt nothing could touch him when he was inthat plane.

Waffle, that plane does have the full wrap around shark teeth, ZP-Y however did not. I have seen so many different types of teeth , long, short, red mouth etc... I basically chose the set that I have seen on this particualer plane.

Straffo, yeah I like em scratched and dirty (kinda like my women). The climate where that plane was flown was very hard on the paint. I see many picture of worn paint in that theatre. Any pics showing new paint is usually right after the delivery.

Cheers

I would check that mouth out again...
I've seen the "RG" series with no mouth and the style you've drawn. but I haven't seen the "ZP" with that mouth / eyes.

Here is the model  I used. I have seen this picture in books and online. The paintscheme seems to be on several different planes so I chose one (a58-615) and did it. The one thing I overlooked though was the inside of the mouth on this particulal plane is red and I will change it before I submit the skin to HT.
