No worries ghostdancer. There is a ch 1 toggle in the arena setup (labeled  communications flags) that I assume will be available for CM's.

Seems like all the people who simply could not use the squelch command, for whatever reason, are the ones who want chn1 off.

Regardless of what happens, there is a large number of paying members who do want chn1 reinstated.

I just dont understand the reason for this, why have blocking features built into the game. Those features are moot now.

So you are upset because instead of choosing to squelch channel 1, people have to choose to tune to a specific channel to chat with people in other countries? I don't see the big deal. People tell those who don't like channel 1 to squelch it. Now it seems that you don't want to spend the 5 seconds it takes to tune to channel 200. Seems a bit hypocritical to me. Besides, you only have to tune to channel 200 once. It stays tuned when you log out and back in. Those that wanted to squelch channel 1 had to do it everytime they entered.

BTW, I was a big talker on channel 1 (trolling, joking, chatting with others) and do miss it. I just don't see the major problem with having it gone. I tuned to channel 200 on the same radio thingamabob on which I had 1 tuned.

I am too lazy to type the same basic thing all over again, so I just copied this from a post I made in some thread in the GD.  Oh, one other thing.  I am laughing at the people that think this is a major issue that ruins the game.  I hope they don't quit.  A good whine over somethig that is nowhere near as important as the whiner seems to think is always hilarious.   channel 1 whiners!  Keep up the bad fight!

channel 200 works just fineeee...it will be a bit longer till everyone finds out..so you cant tell everyone to go to hell yet:)

I think the difference is that when new players came into the game, the first thing they would see was all the channel 1 chatter which sometimes must have been quite off-putting.  This way, they can get used to the communication system and the game in general before finally choosing to tune to 200 once they are settled.  New players are more likely to stay if they aren't bombarded with political and religious debates and general trash-talking as soon as they walk through the door.  Also, as stated already - 200 only needs to be tuned once.

Had Pyro confirmed that we can activate channel 1 in the SEA yesterday. So I am happy now .. only need to use as a CM to answer queries from both sides.

Otherwise as a player in the MA I just tend to squelch it.

People who are mad about channel 1 can only be angry because their captive audience is gone.  That is absolutely the only thing that has changed.

This was more practical than forcing people - newbie included that don 't even know how - to every time type  /.squelch 1 (with a missed key or two thrown in thats a lot of typing).  This way much more economical, people who enjoy the trash need only tune a channel once.   Instead of a daily tune-out it is a once in a lifetime tune-in.  Quite sensible.

I guess from our side of things hitech could have just reset the channels to default and taken channel 1 off the default channel list - but this must have been more practical from their side.
