WWII also had bi-planes. But there's not a single bi-plane modeled. How fair is that, huh? Not a SINGLE bi-plane! And the bi-planes were around much longer than your B-29! Much longer! And we don't have any! And they flew during WWII!:D

There are no seaplanes at all in AH.

Italy had some medium bomber seaplanes during WWII

(CANT Z-516)

and most of all we had the best Italian medium bomber SM-79 Sparviero

You're making me drool!  Thanks for the nice visual!! But guys dont worry, i dont want a perked atom bomb or anything so nutty...  I just want a B-29 - A Big bomber that had a great impact on history and would have a great impact in the game.  No flight sim/game has ever modeled this plane as far as i know.

As far as Biplanes are concerned, they disappeared soon after the war began for the most part in the more advanced countries.  The only biplane that had a significant impact that i can recall off the top of my head is the swordfish, and it was quite successful in sinking Italian Battleships at Taranto Harbor and unless I am mistaken (And God himself knows it has happened a FEW times) The swordfish was also used to attack the German battleship Bismarck Didn't The Hurricane and Wildcat start development as Biplanes?

Some Italian units were flying them as late as 1943 (that would be 4 years out of a 6 year war if we accept 1939-1945 as the time period). The B-29 was not deployed in the European theater at all and it wasn't deployed against Japan until the last two months of 1944.

My point was if "being a WWII sim" is the prime qualification for including the B-29 .... that still puts it pretty low on the list. Even in regards to impact it's main claim to fame is firebombing Tokyo and dropping the bomb on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. It's pretty much the period at the end of the sentence. We haven't got the sentence even half written. ;)

Those are good suggestions Strat; the He111 would be important for this summer's Battle of Britain event, and the B-24 was a mainstay of the U.S. bomber fleet, used by both Army and Navy, in every theater I believe.

Yes, the Betty would have little use in the MA (but the 20mm defensive guns would be pretty funny). But with the impending arrival of the ToD, I suspect that plane development will be focused on fleshing out specific Planesets that can be used in that concept.

Certainly, planes that fullfill uses both in the ToD, and in the MA exist (the Ki-84 being a prime example). As it stands, I don't feel the B-29 would work in the ToD, as there isn't anything modeled that could intercept the thing.

I agree that one of the Tupolevs would be handy though.

Since this is a WW2 sim it should have the b-29. Maybe not the a-bomb, but it should still be included. when i installed ah2 i went to the hanger to see if there were any new bombers. NONE. i am a bomber person myself and i expected there to be atleast 1 new bomber. y not make it the b-29??

HTC was rather clear that there would be no new planes with the initial release of AHII.
