While it's fun to read these posts on the board, ultimately the market will determine whether or not AHII works or not.

Although, how many here went through the initial release of WWIIOL?

And yet that game survived.

I haven't had any crashes in AHII (not counting Beta of course), and in my limited playing since Wed, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary that I would call a "bug." As I mentioned in another post, a lot of what people are complaining about has more to do with lack of understanding the changed (wrt fuelburn, or channel 200, or right clicking ect).

Some will still not like the changes, but they aren't bugs. I'm thinking about putting up a "changing from AH to AHII" webpage to help people with the transition.

I haven't encountered any real problems with AH II.  So far, my computer has handled it without a glitch.

Playing it in beta was very enjoyable.  Far less crowded and the horde mentality was less prevalent.  (A shame that HTC felt it necessary to take it out of beta.  Grin.) Most of the whines seem to be coming from those who waited until it came out of beta before trying it out.  It has a learning curve, to be sure, but there isn't an insurmountable difference between it and AH I.  Much of the gamey quality is no longer there.

Sure, the new range icons take some getting used to.  As does the gunnery.  Where I used to set convergence at 500, now I have set it at 350.  I may reduce it even more.  Those who used to fly cannon-armed fighters and lived by the ho are going to be disappointed to learn that ho kills are much harder to attain.  Spray and pray shooting is going to be greatly reduced.  Ammo conservation is now more important than in the past.  ACM is also going to gain in importance, at least in my opinion.

All of this is as it should be.  More realism...less gameiness.

Take the time to learn it...adjust...and enjoy.

Then along that line of thought lets say you go buy a game from your local store and only some of it works would you return it or just keep it and say well the next update will fix it i'd bet you would take it back that day and wonder why it was released before it was ready. Then again as HTC will tell you almost every time the problem is not on their end its the lag

I hope you quit.   You are about the biggest whiner in this game.

Guess what- This is  aww2 Flight Sim, not a WW2 Tank SIM
You should be grateful there are even gv's in the game.
you wanna tank, go play WW2ol, thats what I do.
and BTW, your sig says you regestered in feb. I don't think that 5 months of playing gives you the right to whine at all.
Those of us who have been here awhile(3+ years) know what to expect from here on out, i.e. patches and upgraded features from here on out on a semi-regular basis ( every 10 days to 3 weeks)
{Please let me know if that is totally off the mark HT}
So, stop your whining please, I'm wasting flight time to respond to this

This would be a great thing, if one did not have to study and thereby had time to do it.

Actually this is only partially correct.
It started as a WWII flight sim but has evolved into an overall WWII  sim that includes both Air, Sea and mechanised ground forces. which now can play a major role inthe game.

Judging from the amount of effort that has been put into having the ground  war in play One can no longer say this is a flight sim alone.
The balance now on many of the maps can be as much as 60-40 Air to ground

Thats what they get for continuing to rack up easy kills in AH1 for the last 4 months instead of learning the new modeling by flying the beta.

But I couldn't agree more that the whiners are annoying, even more so when they threaten to quit over it, at times I figure we'd all be better off if they actualy DID quit. But I am sure that is not the opinion of HTC.

Last night P 14 was captured by the Knights by CAP and C-47 loaded with goons.

30 minutes later, it was retaken by the Bish by armored assault.  I don't think THEY were having any issues with the armored game play.

"When a piece of software is bug free ........ it's out of date "

Ah - the school of Bill Gates. If everone releases crap, people will expect crap.  And if you have different levels of crap, they'll pay for even more crap.
Well what would you expect from a pirate?

Not that AH2 fits in that category. But I hate the idea that bugged filled programs are routine now. They used to be bullet proof on release. Then Gates came around and marketed a whole new level of mediocrite.
