key mapping problem
« on: June 19, 2004, 03:42:37 AM »
This may not be the best place to post this but here goes.
I do not have any key mapped in the ah2update. I cannot pull it from the ah1 version because somehow the stupid ah2 overwrote it. I know it isnt supposed to but it did. Now I have no keyboard functions at all. Also I cannot type text in the game to even ask whats wrong ...again the keyboard mapping problem.
I cant even do a system restore back to the ah1 version for some wierd reason. So that means i cant even burn it to a disk. Please for the love of Pete somone ...anyone help.

There's no way AH2 would 'overwrite' your AH1 files. Just reinstall AH2 and start over remapping, you don't have another choice as I see it.

Actually, you can fix this.

There are 6 files to copy and paste. Don't drag them!

The files contain both your joystick maping and your keyboard maping.  Look in your settings folder inside C:Programs:htc:Aces High II:settings

They are...

global
gunner
plane
vehicle
view
chute

You can open them with a text reader and inspect them if you like.

That will get you back up and running without too much fuss.
Easy in-game again.

OR... delete your settings folder entirely and the next time you log on it will be redownloaded upon going online.
Crap now I gotta redo my cool sig.....crap!!! I cant remeber how to do it all !!!!!
