Yep it will give you good frame rates Jet. BUt have a look through the forums anyway. There is some good info on that card somewhere here.

I seem to recall that the 9800 pro 256 MB card was not as fast as the 128 mb one though. Not sure why (most of this stuff goes over my head), but Skuzzy has a reply referencing that around here somewhere.

cheers,

Jesus Christ between you and Jay's constant .....will this work?  will that work threads you would think that you MIGHT have it figured out by now as to what is good and bad.  How about spending less time spamming the boards and maybe doing some Golly-gee research on your own.

Go to the websites of the companys that make that certain product and read up on it.

AW, do a search bud, then you realize what the hell is going on with them:D  You don't usually ask for the "same" directions 10x.

Spamming? I'm just curious is all. You have numerous posts asking the same question. Also on chan 1 you've done the same to say the least. I just thought you would have gathered all the info you need, or to go out and read up on these cards yourself. Maybe stop relying on the BB so much. I know its here to help, but thats about all it can do is help. You have to make some decisions. Ever think that these guys might be steering you in the wrong direction? I'm just saying go read up on some of the things you are asking about.

I see that you didnt find any other post that I was asking about that card. You know you were telling other people to think before you talk. I think you need to do that exact same thing.;)

This is because ram on video cards are really expensive. The companys lower the ram speeds on 256 meg cards so the price won't be so high. Most don't change the gpu speed but some might. Won't be like this long since they are finding many ways to make cheaper ram. As for posting here, why not just go to ATI site read the info about it then compare it to another card you might want. Then read reviews about them. I do that a lot since I doubt anybody can remember every single detail when comparing two cards. Plus when you read the reviews you can get a fair one and not someone telling you to get this one card becuase it's ATI or Nvidia or becuase 256 is more than 128 so it has to be better.
