New PC Question
« on: June 21, 2004, 09:24:38 AM »
Is this PC going to be enough? I heard some things about flat panels and how they aren't designed for online gaming...

 Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 3.00GHz, M/800MHz FSB

Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional, SP1, with Media and NTFS

1.0GB DDR Non-ECC SDRAM, 333MHz, (2DIMMs)

Dell UltraSharp™1703FP flat panel, height adjustable stand (17.0 VIS)

80GB EIDE 7200RPM

Integrated Sound Blaster Compatible

Integrated Intel Gigabit (10/100/1000), with Alert Standards Format

48X32 CDRW/DVD Combo, with Roxio Easy CD Creator® and DVD
decode

 ____________

I'm guessing the integrated sound will need to be upgraded...any other suggestions?

I've been using dell for 2 years w/o a single issue other than AH2 slowing down my system. I;ve heard how Dell sucks and I got screwed, but AFAIK this has been not the case with me and Ahes High.

No mention of the graphics card ?
Thats the most important piece of info.

And the monitor whats the response time?

Flat panel monitors with a response time longer than 16ms are NOT good for gaming.
Once illuminated the pixels take too long to switch off and you can end up with blurring and smearing of the graphics in a fast moving game.
