Plan for C-47
« on: June 20, 2004, 06:25:12 PM »
I have a plan for the C-47, you know how the Hercules can make a ramp at the back of it to supply cargo, well, we could add that to the C-47. Someone could get in a tank, go up the ramp, then, while flying, the person opens it up, the tank gets out, and deploys a parachute down to an enemy base. I actually got this from a friend, and I thought it was cool. How do you like it HTC and members?

Probably wouldnt work.

#1 We have spawn points to most bases even tho not all.

#2 It is a good idea but think how in-effective it would be. 1 C47 carries 1 tank to a field. Considering that not many would be willing to haul a tank over to an enemy base anyway.

#3 Also the fact of how tanks, presuming its a flak, are easy damaged. Actually so are regular panzers.

I actually like the idea, and wouldnt mind see'ing it implemented in the MA. I just see other things that need to be worked on before we head down "that" road. I'd rather see a way of hauling supplies for A/C in a C47. That might be cool to see. Or instead of 10 troops, a crew of 10 maintenance crew hehe.

I guess you got take the tank apart, put it in the side door  - land it...take the parts out and reassemble it?

Would suck to get snuck up on while your hoisting your turret down.

There was one at a northen airfield for base camp supply and with ramps you could load a Willies jeep and some other cargo, but not much else.

Maybe introducing cargo planes from other countries may be the route.

I now germany had a monster supply craft and a glider and the Fokker (I think) 3 engine transport.

Expanding the horizons abit while still having fun

They got the occasional jeep in a C47 but never a tank.  No ramp in back for one, and it took a lot of effort to figure out how to get a jeep in the side ramp.

I dont think we will see gliders any time soon because it doesnt take 20 troops (10 from c47 and 10 from glider) to capture a field.

Would be nice to see a Ju-52, but if it was introduced C47 would rarely be used in MA because of defenses.

I disagree: the Ju52 doesn't have the armament to deter anything other than the most tentative and clumsy attacker, plus it is much slower than the C47.

I think the JU52 would provide some interesting choices and would also be usefull in the CT and for Scenarios.

ju52 will be a great.

you could then choose between a faster unarmed plane
or a slower lightly (3 7.9mm MGs) armed plane.

If we are talking about loading bigger vehicles, there is the obvious choice, the Me323. This has been suggested a few times before.
