The P-38L had a generator on each engine. Yes, WEP was independent on the engines. The fuel is independent as well, unless you cross the fuel over.
The P-38J introduced 55 gallon wing tanks in the leading edges of the outer wings, they replaced the leading edge intercoolers. They were not reserve tanks. There are reserve tanks, they are used for the first 15 minutes of flight to drain them because the fuel vapor return fills them back up. Veteran P-38 pilots told me that after emptying the reserves, they switched to the outer wing tanks to empty them next, unless carrying drop tanks. Emptying the outer wing tanks made it roll faster. With drop tanks the order would be reserve 1st, then drop tanks, then outer tanks, then main tanks, then back to reserves if needed.
By the way, I notice the fuel tank indicator reads that fuel is burned one side at a time. Is this how it is actually modeled? If so, this would create CG issues, as the plane would become very unbalanced.
On one engine, the P-38 could cruise at 255 MPH at 20K feet. I have no data for single engine WEP performance. I doubt there is an endurance difference for WEP between single and twin engine operation.
By the way, last night I took a hit in my right main fuel, but I had white smoke coming from my left engine as if it were overheating. It still smoked on landing. But the only indicated damage was right main fuel. The damage model of the P-38 appears to be either bizarre, or filled with bugs, or both. I do not think it has been updated in AH II.
Another thing I notice is that on takeoff, the elevator trim is run all the way up, and I have to manually set it down. The manual says 11 degrees up trim. Also, it yaws to one side on takeoff. The brakes do not hold well either. They should hold the plane still on the runway at 54" of manifold pressure.
By the way, what stick is it that has two throttles? I'd like to have two throttles. I'd prefer two throttles independent of my joystick, but I'd settle for two throttles onmy stick if I liked the stick well enough.
