Oh yeah, nothing like the performance of a nice pair of jugs.

I cant tell much difference, now that the bug is squashed.  I have heard others say they are different.  Most of the people told me they thought the P-47's were not as good in AH2.

The planes that I can tell a difference in are the P-51D (seems much better than before), F4U (better), F190A (worse), G10 (better). I haven't flown everything though, and these are only my perceptions!:)

Okay I have flown the P47D11 and P47D40 a bit. And I like them better in AH2.

I find the P47 a touch more maneuverable than before. I was able to give some spits and LA7s a seriously hard time in them down low. Yes, the Spit eventually pulled away and got on my six but they had to work for it a lot more than usual.

So overall feel is they are a bit more responsive when you have speed. When you don't have speed they feel a bit more sluggish to me.

In dives they definitely have gained over AH2 .. they dive now like nobodies business and zoom climbs are something to see.

Their ruggedness also now really comes into play. With the new more exacting GM basically overall I can count on nme planes getting less sustained burst on me. Resulting in a hit or two with shells. So far I have flown home from several encounters with Spits at 200 yrds on my six. Before at the 200-400 yard range in AH1 and I was dead. Now with some jinking I am able to hold them off until the P47 starts to pull away. Plus, a single or two hits while damaging is not enough to kill the P47. In AH1 at that range they would be lighting me up like a xmas tree.

Overall I like the jugs in AH2 and so far have done with the best with them in combat (well them and the F4U-1C).

I have only played around in the d-11 but I find it equates about the same as in AH1.   The differences I see after the damage fix is mostly due to the overall change to FM for all models and the changes to gunnery.   With the longer range hits being less easily obtained you have more chance to manuever with the normal turners.   Of course this might change when everyone has more of a chance to adjust from AH1 "tactics" to AH2 "tactics".

In short, the P47 is just as fun as it always was with the bonus of having to learn it again.

Differences from AHI are small but are generally for the better.

Inertia seems somewhat better in all planes which is good for the jug. Many planes have nasty stalls and dangerous spins while the jug is very gentle and easy to recover. Throttle management is necesery if you want to fly light. Yes you can load up the fuel and go full throttle across the map, but then you are a flying whale. it eats the fuel at 550 gallons/hour while most fighters drink 300-350 GPH. (fuel burn multi is 2). With the harder gunnery, having 8*0.5 and 3400 round for them is great.

The P47 has always had the reputation of being a stable/docile aircraft even at stall speeds..  In AH2 with the better stall model, this attribute is very noticeable during hammerheads, rope a dopes and bleeding energy turns into full flap turns to out radii the enemy for a gun solution...

Compared to the super torque 109 its night and day in regards to handling at stall speeds... (not to say the p47 outturns the 109 it just lumbers around as opposed to the squirelly behavior of the 109 or any other super powerful engine mounted on a light airframe...)

Gunnery with the 8 50's is better because the newer dispersion model makes gunnery tougher in general..  With 8 50's staggered at 275 and 300m (4 guns each) I have no problem landing solid hits on enemy aircraft.. your throwing alot of lead thru the air  so go figure..

Proformance from AH1 in regards to accel and topspeed remains unchanged imo..

2 cents..
