Where o where are thy Bish?
« on: June 22, 2004, 05:33:30 PM »
The last few days Bish have been out numbered 2 to 1 against Knights and Rooks and 3 to 1 overall. Unfortunately it has hurt us in the last two maps, big time. Myself and FATE love a challenge as do the rest of the Bish, but the few Bish that are on just cant overcomer the numbers. Seems like during the recent AH transition Bish suffered the most in terms of players. Any thoughts?

I log off when the Bish are vastly outnumbered and being pounced on by hordes of Rooks and Knights.  You are outnumbered, they have bombed out your radar, and you get tired of the unbalanced game play

I imagine there are a few others that do the same or switch sides.

I have no answers other than to make perkie rides dirt cheap. Say 10 pts for a 262, and 3 pts for a Tempest or F4U-4 when your side has less than half of the largest side.  I am serious, we need to stop the one sided play.

you should have tried being a knight in AH1

always on the recieving end of a beating

only way i know how to play is being outnumbered :)

(apart from when i flew rooks for a few months, then i was the only pilot under 20k :D  )
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

When I joined AH (version 1.05) rooks were in the bucket... and it lasted up till somewhere 1.08 or 1.09 and then the knights took over being the outnumbered species.

During all these times it was not uncommon at times for bish to outnumbered the knights AND rooks combined....

Each and every time a rook or a knight complained about this unfairness bish people told them to shut up and take it in the 4ss because every now and then it happens to all the teams....

:p Watch me gloat :D

I remember reading a quote somewhere from a German pilot who survived the war asking why there were so many German Aces. He said (and I paraphrase heavily), "well... we were vastly outnumbered. Any time we took off from a field we didn't have to fly very far to encounter the enemy. We had many more opportunities to fight than the allies did".

Translation... outnumbered means you are benefiting from a "target rich environment". Hang in there, I am sure it will balance out eventually.

Thats if I decide to even play again. lol

There was another little phrase as I recall.

As german fighter pilot ace Gunther Rall (275 kills) said in an interview many years after World War 2, such endless combat activity simply meant that "It was either the Iron Cross or the wooden cross" - a medal or a grave.

Well this current situation started about 9am yesterday. Bish outnumbered Nits and Ruks and the Nits and Ruks were busy fighting each other. We had the town next to HQ (17 I think) flat and could not capture because the goons were being sniped by an m8 while every single fighter was vulching. No amount of pleading would get them to go to the town and kill 1 measley m8. We lost 2 goons in less than 5 minutes.

Meanwhile 20 or more bish were milkrunning empty Ruk bases in the south and would not stop and help reclaim the HQ bases.

I have been Bish from Day 1 and never considered switching. What I watched today I made me sick. We Bish deserve this reset. :(

It simply goes around.  From 2000 - late 2001 the Knights were the strongest and most populated country in AH.  Bish didn't even win a rest until mid-2001!  So when nits complained they had very short memories since they gangbanged everyone for the first 1 1/2 years.

Its true some of the activity last night was unbecoming. But there was some real heroics around P7 at about 10-10.30p EST.

I do however dispute the claims of a dramatic drop in the Bish:rook:Knit ratio. When i was on last night we were only down by about 30 players compared to the other two teams.

On the weekend I logged on 4-5 times for 2-3 hours  a piece and the ratios were about 83:86:89. That's hardly uneven.

I don't know if the Bish just can't cope with the new FM, are unable to figure out the meaning of teamwork, or are point-whoring slobberdonkeys.

Possibly a combination of all three. No point in disparing the alt monkeys/hordes etc. IF a tactic consistently kills you then its effective.  End of story. All is fair in love and war. And guess what folks - it's war.

Gunther Rall (275 kills)..Would love to see what type of aircraft and the time frame of his career starting with his first kill....probably a Bi-plane
