Building a New Machine, need help!

OK, I want to build a new PC, mainly to play AH2. Could use some help as to what MB, Video Card, Sound Card, Power supply etc. and a good place to buy them.  Also not sure if I want to use AMD or Intel, or which is best for gaming. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

The general thinking is that Athlon's tend to have a performance advantage at the same price, or vice versa.

Here's a link to Extreme Tech from someone else's post.  They put a lot of thought in putting together their $1,000 Athlon gaming rig, which follows their earlier $1k Pentium rig. [taxes and shipping excluded]
