« on: June 25, 2004, 10:57:53 PM »
I have a P4 2.8 with an intell 828 chipset motherboard.

I can step up to a free ECS 848 P-A woth a 3.0.

would it be worth the trouble?

ECS dosen't have a good reputation. I would never use them. And, why not go with a non Intel chipset. Intel chipset perform low compare to others while gaming.

actually ECS makes most of the Asus mainboards and 60% of the laptops.

as for the ECS board your looking at it should run really good.

My gaming ecs mb has been thru hell and back and it still rocks even though its 3 yrs old now .

my other ecs mb is a problem child though , but then again it came from a abusive home ... and is a pile of toss together parts .

ive had more failiers from gigabite mb's then ecs . and im still building cheaper pc's using ecs mb's .(12 pc's no comebacks)

Thanks for the input guys.

I figure why not if it is free, I could always get a better board later.
