why the YAK

well since the new gunnery in AH2 is a little harder.....try the YAK.....

120 rounds of 20mm will give you excellent practice.....it will shorten your training in gunnery....plus long shots are not recommended in the YAK....its all up close and personnel

plus its and excellent N1K2 killer:rofl

Yak is a great plane, Always has been, here and in AW(where I flew it most)
I like it better in AHII then AHI
the 9U can usually outturn what it cant out run and out run whatever it cant out turn and there arent a whole lotta planes it cant out turn
It gets a bad rap cause of the ammo load and most spray and prayers lack the patience to learn to conserve ammo till you actually have a shot
But if you are patient and get in close those guns pack a punch and a half

loved the 9U in AH1

takes some getting used to AH2, but I'm coming around.  Still cant hit anything much, but it is still one of the most fun planes in the game.

I am finding it easier then AHI

Its funny. I fly the Yak almost exclusively (in a fit of desperation I took up a n1k2 a bunch this tour... I feel like I'm cheating on my wife lol) and last night was the first night I didn't auger at all!

Those accelerated stalls were causing me a LOT of airframe to earth contacts.

Its probably because I'm getting a lot closer to the targets in AHII, but the guns are just cutting through spits. I'm getting a lot more single burst shotgun kills it seems.

I've also felt like I have a harder time turning with the La-7s, but it could have just been a good stick or two I was up against.

I can't wait until I get a little better, and I can take the 9T back up. Right now I'm just sucking in it.

Oh yeah...you've done it now....your dooooooomed :p :D

My first AH2 flight (well the first where i actually got away from the field intact) i went up against a F4U in a P47D11, figured I was a goner, but what the heck.  Anyway, we turned a bit and I got a 400 yard deflection shot...figured, no way but pulled the trigger anyway, boom, he blows up.  Then I'm thinkin, "whats so hard about this?"  LOL  Now after severe frustration the last couple of days, I finally understand ;)

2 things I'm practicing right now too help gunnery...

obviously the no.1 is the YAK.....up close and personnel shooting is always a good thing:rofl

2nd but the most difficult is the deflection shooting.....

in AH1 I was a regular at shootin deflects from 600 to 800 out....I practiced that alot....

in AH2 its more in the range of 500 to 600.....I've now reached 1 kill in a vertical dive vs.109 to hit em as he was pullin out of dive.....pulled stick too folllow his dive-out....1 big burst of F6F ammo and 109 started spinning and bang....700 out......soon back too 800 out:D
