will this vid card run AH2 please anyone?
« on: June 26, 2004, 10:21:21 AM »
cruising through the web and i found a site which sells all kinds of soft/hardware

was just wondering if this video card is good enough to run AH2:

and if so, is it worth buying it (a great deal at: $52) or should i spend more (next one up that looks good is close to $300) to get better results.

if this card works i will be over the moon as it will cost less than my beer money this weekend! :)

the card is:

ATI  RADEON  9200SE  AGP   128MB   TV-O

PRICE:  $52

WEBSITE: http://WWW.DITCORP.COM

or would this one be better for $68?

eVGA  FX5200  8X AGP   128MB  TV-O, DVI

thanks for the help in advance for anyone who replies

ATI and nVidia are like Ford and Chevy. Both are good cards, it's just what brand you like better. I'm running an FX5200 that came with my system and it runs AH2 just fine.

Define Fine.....

Wow you all have a different definition of the word Fine.....My definition would be Full settings in AHII and framerates would not go below 40 FPS...I will tell all of you right now you are not running AHII with that definition. I mean FULL settings all set to Full detail max textures..any thing below that in my opinion is not fine its Called Sub Standard..

Yes the FX5200 will run the game...but at wat standard?
Did any of you see the specs of the card he picked ..The FX5200 is the lowest  of the FXs' made..

You will no be totaly happy with it... Ill repete It will run it But you will want better in a short amount of time.

Good Luck and find out what The word Fine means before you blow your money...

Look at the  FX5700 or up cards and stay away from the 5200

Oh by the way I am running a FX5200 128 card....

Not sure if video card is only thing that determines how "fine" AH2 runs...

I was clear on my recomendation. Do the research is my point.
Set a standard of expectations meaning what will you be happy with in reference to game performance. Then find the best card that fits that.
