Stop it

Every update sofar from the complete download AH2000.exe caused a complete system hang. Bringing up a white screen hiding the below lying screen with the buttons I need to press to install or stop the installation. In some occasions I had to reinstall from that 2000 file and get the subsequent updates. I how managed to update proper inbetween I cannot recall . After numerous system restarts I urge you to stop with those updates ;)

Serious help is appreciated though.

an update to my troubles running ah.

Finally uninstalled ah. Reinstalled from  2000 and ran the patches 2 3 and 4. I get in with 2.00 patch 4 offline. So far so good. Hitting the quit button drops me to an all white screen with in top bar Aces High II and in bottom tools bar the start button and an Aces High II button and a frozen system. Alt F4 does not help.
I have to reboot. After Ctrl Alt Del I get the option AH does not respond and choose Close Task no respond not even after several tries.

However I had similar problems with te former patches ( don't know how I fixed them) I could play until the auto update from patch 3 to 4.

Any clues ?

Are you using zone alarm?  I agree it sounds like a firewall setting.  IF it's zonealarm, go to it's program mgr, and RE-select AH2.exe after every patch, BEFORE you launch AH2.

What it sounds like 2 me.

thanks for the replies. I am using Norton and had the settings reset after each patch. Did remove former settings to be sure.
This evening I was able to get in the game . However logging out hangs system again. After hitting quit (3 times as most have to ?)
it hangs system again.

Before I could get in I had a hangup . System ran out of free space ??? It showed to me that I had about 900 MB free !

900mb's on what size hard drive ???

my exprirence with hard drives over the years has taught me to keep them below 80 % capacity  when ever i go above that they always start to hang and crash the os alot .

remember to go clear out your temp files (theres ussually tons of worthless junk in there)
