this might be a crazy notion but imagine if, to play AH you HAD to be in a squad. there would be a recruiting arena where trainers would help newbies to learn the ropes and find a squad that suits them.
the reason for the mandatory squad membership would be that each squad would be assinged a base that they could fly from, as well as a short list of available aircraft.
in this way people would be forced to defend their base to the death and only when they lost control of the base, could they move to another field. although they would need the permission of the base they move to and would be limited to the corresponding plane set of that base, plus they would be under the command of the said base's CO.
Squadrons would therefore have to be much larger (maybe up to 50 pilots per squad) to maximise the chances of the base being populated. If a base had no squadies online then it becomes inactive to the MA untill someone logs on.
these rules would only apply to front line bases and there would be a vast ammount of 'behind the action' depots and supply fields as well as much larger major aerodromes with all planes enabled and bomber squadrons operating from these bases.
As well as this resriction of movement to the individual squadrons, there must be implemented some sort of limited supplies per day. so, if one squadron in particular is spending far too much fuel and ammo, or lossing too many planes then they may find their days flying is over too soon. this would call for more effective flying and better leadership. No fuel porking at bases, or any strating at all except disabling planes in hangers. to cut the enemies supplies you would have to launch deeper insertion mission to hit depots and the like.....
this idea is only forming as i type, would anyone like to carry on? or am i typing total gyberish? it is 6.20am here
