Right now upon reset, we have slightly less airfields than we have planes to fly. We need to make only certain planes fly from certain airfields.
So, given the ENY value, a modifier based on popularity, range the low ENY values closer to the center of the triangle for the lesser ENY planes. Planes like the Maachi would be up front on the center island, while the Chawg and the Dora (if it gets modelled) move WAY back. Construct the map so that the islands extend back further, in a cone shape away from the "front".
Now, upon reset, what happens? Decisions to make. You want to quickly knock out the rear airfields of your enemies, to remove his ability to fly the uber planes. So you organize large bomber raids or send the Task Force towards the rear of the enemy across open sea. Grab the Chawg base, or the Dora Base.
Capture it and the base becomes only a point at which you can refuel only. You cannot spawn there. This makes positioning and defending the CV crucial to strat. Make only the D-Hawg flyable from CVs, with the F6F and the Zeke and the TBF.
When LSTs come along, landing Ostys on the rear islands to "keep" the uberplane bases will also be part of the strategy.
What will we see? A lot of initial whining by players who have had their "ride" captured. Incentive to perhaps organize and get it back. Intense difficulty in launching an attack into the rear echelon and sustaining it. If a frontal attack is used, the need to add fuel tanks for longer flights and more coordination as the war dragged on. Alot of players who only want the Dora or whatever uber whining about how long they must fly before fighting, even though it's a flat rate game. An incentive to bring the fight to the rear quickly.
The game will also slide quickly out of recovery if the rear bases can be defended well. So, once a side is down to a certain "combined ENY" value, reset the war and declare a victor. A side with a sunk CV and down to 5 bases all at the front, is limited to flying Macchis and such, and call the war over and reset.
