CVs

It looks as if the axis guys porked (captured) all the allied ports and CVs during low number buisness hours. I asked a CM if we could have at least one back and was told NO!

After flying for a few I discovered that this CM was capturing himself. Not that he was inviolved with the CV issue but now I understand his reasoning.

So from now on what gets porked stayes porked? I asure you I will remember this.

With all due respect, Hawk, I made that decision (yes, it was me, though I appreciate your efforts to not point fingers)  based on the following:

a) There was no immediate danger of a reset.

b) All Allied planes were available from land bases (at least, there seemed to be plenty of F4Us/F6F/etc above me; indeed, you killed my panzer in one).

c) There were Allied land bases near enough to IJ bases to keep flight times reasonable.

d) There were Allied players available to take the initiative away from the Emperor's forces.

In short, the arena was not officially broken, and the Allies had the ability to correct the situation themselves, should they desire to do so.  For what it's worth, I had only been in the arena a few minutes when you radioed your request to "give us back a cv."  I was playing IJ because they were short on numbers at the time I logged in.  Finally, I enjoy taking bases when there are people to defend it (as you did when you bombed my tank).  That is, after all, part of the game.  After I aborted the base assault, I grabbed a plane and went up for some dogfighting (I enjoy that, as well).

For the record, I was not abrupt with you, as your "NO!" comment implies.  I stated why I was disinclined to acquiesce to your demand, then went back to playing.  If you felt I was in any way rude to you, I'm sorry.  It certainly wasn't my intention, as I'm sure it wasn't yours, either.  Hope that clears the air.

Well, this is that typical CT mentality that forgets this is not supose to be a mini MA. There are plenty of fields to attack and capture but why the ports? Simply to piss off the allies....and remove the much bitc1hed about "ack". We have to live with thier CV ack just to get a decent fight. They can park thier CV on our beaches but we cant whine about having at least one CV to operate off of?

Not only that but where do you think they fly out of to pork the fields? They pork the ports then sink the CV then operate from that CV to pork near by bases. Sure its a good plan but geeeesh....I hear the same thing over and over. Dont reset what "we" worked so hard to accomplish...errr I mean "Pork" during non prime time hours. Just today several of us...well three allies returned the favor and recaptured the ports only. All was fine even the axis guys were just fighting. Funny thing is when a certain Jg54 person logged on and saw what happened, he went to whinning and called in five more Jg54 guys to try and take them back...it didnt work. About six vs six players kept the port from getting captured. So there you have it. I am not saying that "they" were the ones guilty of capturing the Fleets but they sure got P1ssed when we took them back and then failed to retake them.

So.. I am curious.
1) This un-named person, did what exactly what that was inapropriate? ie. derogitory(sp) remarks?, insulted you beyond the "normal" CT Taunting? or just mentioned that it was sad that the Allies had captured all the ports? ( I was not there, I am  curious as to the basis of the acusation)

2) what is your problem with a member of a "Squad" being with His/Her squad? and involved in a "Squad" activity? ie. Working together towards a common goal!

3) Sounds like it was probly some fun fights if you had 6 on 6 ( seems almost uhmm? fair??)

So if I read your posts correctly, 1) no side should try to "win/capture" any territory at all. in fact we should not do anything except furball, as of course this is the Dueling Arena, and not the Combat Theatre( or Historical arena if you will)?

2) we should never call our Friends/Squaddies for any assistance in the pursuit of the above mentioned capturing/winning thing?

in fact why not just disable 2 sides, and turn off killshooter and we can have a fragging deathmatch kind of thing going on, hey, that sounds fun eh!

Like i said I wasn't there, but reading your post I don't really understand the problem? bases get captured, land gets taken, people get upset about losing CV's and Ports, and bases. it is the nature of thisGAME

Interesting Hawk. I logged on at 2 AM this morning only to find memebers of the 312th porking to beat the band. Now mind you, there were no other people in the entire arena. A bit ironic don't ya think.

Well Hawk, I never participated in any port captures so I can't even comment. There is a big difference in trying to take a base in an arena full of people and milking an empty arena. I doubt you see the difference.

There is a huge difference. Anyone (in realistic terms) can pork all they want, its thier $$$$, but when prime time game play comes around, reset the F!@# arena. NOt the whole thing for say, but your not stupid, you know what I mean...too bad the silly CT Staff doesn't. Get real though, you know the ports had to be captured then the fleet for that port had to be sunk. Not all three ports and fleets can be had during normal CT times...and you know it! They were purposefully porked...and you know that too!

Well Hawk you give me too much credit for such a plan and never heard anything about this elaborate scheme. Not saying it didn't happen for the reasons you stated, but don't pin it on me. And frankly Hawk who gives a crap. There have been plenty of good fights. I guess you have to obsess about something.

I dont recall giving you credit for anything. ?  Where did I say YOU did it? Are you guilty?
 
Its basicly pretty simple;
1. Axis porked all allied CVs and ports (at the above said time). They had to pork the ports first in order to capture the fleets. They captured the fleets to get rid of the fleet ack.

2. After my post, other than the CT Staff member Sabre, Jg54 (Dogsta) was the first to reply to my post. I never said "they, Jg54" did it, however, "they" were involved after "WE" took them back.

3. Then Bear replys accusing some of my squadies of porking bases. They were taking back what was already porked. Its their $$$ and were not "porking" the gameplay.

4. Then yet another Jg54 person, Storch, enters and reply with a joke, I guess!

5. Then Bear jumps back in and says something about me giving him credit..bla bla bla..saying I was trying to pin him in on it. I never said that.. Bear said: "Not saying it didn't happen for the reasons you stated, but don't pin it on me."

6. So why is Jg54 so defensive about my post? I never said they did it!

7. However, after my post I, along with two others, recaptured "OUR" ports and CVs and nothing else. While or just after we captured our third port and CV, in pops Splurts.....yeap, a Jg54 member, the one in the aforementioned post I refrained from naming. He is the one that got all pissed off that we were able to recapture OUR CVs and ports. Shortly after he saw what happened, some how all of a sudden five...I repeat...FIVE other Jg54 guys entered the CT and begain to try and recapture the port we had just captured back. They couldnt do it and finaly logged.

8. Refer to #7, so now you see why it appears Jg54 butted into the discussion.

9. All I did was ask Sabre to give us a CV back since they were porked during "off-peak" times. He refused as he stated.

10. This was not about base capturing in general or porking bases in general but is about porking a major strat item for gameplay during off-peak times.
