The Heavy Cruiser delema....

Does anyone know a successfullway to implement the heavy cruiser with it slaved to the carrier?  Why cant we have the cruiser as a separate entity rather than a babysitter for a carrier.

1. It makes no sense to have to drag an entire group into another fleet just to fire then guns from 1.

2. The heavy cruiser could be a blast if piloted on its own, sneaking up on bases for bombardment and lurking about hunting carrier groups.

3. It would be REAL fun to have 2 heavy cruisers meet up and have the classic gun battle.

4. The carrier and its other escorts are already over gunned for the amount of attacks they recieve.

5. it is retarded to EVER bring 2 carriers within sight of eachother and you are forced to in order to get any use out of the 8" guns.

6. The h cruiser has everything it needs to sustain itself against a fairly good attack so it wouldent be a sitting duck by any means.

7. its very hard to use The heavy cruiser when you cant turn it or anything else bacuse planes are taking off from or landing on the carrier.

If liberating the poor heavy cruiser isnt palatable how about giving us a real battleship to roam the seas with?

cruisers were a major portion of the defense of any carrier group in WW2.  Not to mention it was the staple of any navy at that time.

Kronos is right. But maybe adding a new TF with a CA and a 3 or 4 DD's to use as raiders might be cool.

I know the cruiser helped the Cv and all but im sure thats not all it did, YES it can help but as long as the enemy isnt swarming all of the fleet it migh as well be a turd floating in the water, the same hold true when the fleets get close and its time to use teh big guns, the carrier is then usless.
its like having to drive an airplane everywhere and then having to try to make a car fly, yes they can complement each other but they also have their own VERY differnet roles wich on will always burden the other.  the way it is now is like ahving 1 big boat that does everything in a kinda toejamty half bellybutton way.

I think an alternate fleet that is a cruiser and a couple destroyers with PT boat spawn capability would be neat. It can be in addition to the regular CV system we have now. The commerce raiders could have their fun and the cv group could keep going as is. A win win situation!
