Bishland.. battle for the home island
« on: January 01, 2001, 11:04:00 PM »
It was a dismal day that dawned in bishland.. we had a wall of knights in the north, waves of encroching rooks to the west. After the second reset of the morning we still were not in control of our home island.. the northern port and A11 (heavy) were in knit hands. Recovering these two fields after the last reset was to take most of the day.. many engagements; many battles ensued. Fleets were engaged; entire squadrons deployed.. Bishland's finest and darkest hours were still upon us... outnumbered 2 to 1; we soldiered on.

Wave after wave of bish attackers at A11 were repulsed by the knit interlopers and their high cap.. The sky was festooned with the smoke and wreckage of our buffs as they arrived one at a time over the target and were destroyed... it was awful. Something had to be done..

MISSION TIME! Midnight of the 13th TAS put up a heavy raid mission with the mission editor, bishes came in droves to attend.. finally as a united force we arrived on target, destroyed the hangers and the escorts began to pound down the defending fighters from the fleet and a5. Slowly; inexolerably the tide of the battle shifted. The defenders were unable to hold againt the determined Bish high escorts.. more buffs began to work in.. waves of attacking bombers and their protectors broke the back of the resistance, and soon A11 became a vultched field.

Capture finally occured at A11.. Victory was in our grasp. North we went next; driving towards our captured port, and soon we were again knee deep in knits as they swarmed in from the fleet.. With yet more determinaton the bish prevailed again, and soon our home island was once again in our hands.

Thanks gents; fer a truly memorable day in the Main Arena. Great flying; intense and incredible fights on the part of all involed; friend and foe alike. And thanks HTC for providing the most immersive and incredible arena play I've yet witnessed.. the scene with those b-17's in formation flying thru the ack barrage, fighters weaving thru them.. looked real as hell to me.

As for you bishes.. thanks fer joining those many missions.. WTFG gents. WTFG!

Yes Hangtime.. we were down to 1 field and gettin spanked so bad our butts were bright RED! Great job on the missions and HATS of to ALL the Bishops throughout the day that fought and died to regain our Homeland. I am glad to report All of our sheep are safely back and only a few have post-Nit-Syndrome! This was a stressful day but in the end the evil forces that come to thwart Bishopland were repeled and sent packing.  GOOD JOB ALL!

Missed out on all the fun, but what a great story hang and well written.  I feel a bit guilty not being there to help out.
