GV Sound seems off/GV's stopping at bottom of hill
« on: June 29, 2004, 12:37:25 PM »
Enemy GV sounds seem to be off.  I heard an engine at my 12 o'clock and was promptly killed from my 9 o'clock (only one enemy was in the vicinity and my squaddie was behind me about 1.5 distance).  Also, as you turn your turret you get a dead spot in the sound, even when you shoot your own cannon it sounds real low. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Also, I have been driving my M8 at high speed down a hill only to come to an immediate and complete stop once I reach the bottom. I have to downshift into first gear and start from a standstill to move on.  This ain't right.

These issues were experienced in the Combat Theater.

The issue with the M-8 coming to a stop is correct.  This happens with all the vehicles.  I think what it represents is the hull hitting the ground and bringing the vehicle to a stop.  Kind of like hitting a steep dirt bank.  And yes, I know the hull is designed so that this wouldn't happen at the angle your talking about, but in this model it does.  Same thing with the Panzers, M-3s etc.  In AH1 you would normally just roll, bounce or what ever and die.  Not any more.

Hope answers your question.

As for the sound issue, I haven't encountered it.  Good luck.
