Single most important? Oh Dear...im sweating profusely at the thought of replying to this subject. hmmmm Not too cold i guess.... welp im going for it........................... ........PBY Catalina. NOT the PB4Y2 privateer. patrol navy version of the b24 with 6 turrets!
We already have enough bombers with multiple turrets, for you (3 kill per pass) fighter pilots to Pad Up your scores on... Fester :D
Just seen a documentary on the PBY...was very cool.

Here are some links from these message boards in past threads.

It could carry troops, torps, depth charges, bombs, defend itself and so many other things.
Yet no one has modelled it for game.

It would be cool to have troops and sit out on the water somewhere waiting for the opportunity to capture a base.

It was versatile and famous!

What you think?

Thinking of another idea someone brought up...rescue missions of downed pilots in the Sea. ahhh sounds like a refreshing new twist in AH :aok
Yeah...lets do it. :)

How about the terrain editor?  I'm sure that's more important than another P-38 variant. :D

Sea is already there, thats what LVt's float on. Take the PBY and code it partly like what lvt's use on water and it should work.

Your fighters and bombers also already float on the water...as well as PT boats. The PBY is unique in that it needs to be able to land on the SEA and the land....Im not even certian that the fighters and bombers wouldnt run on the water if the engine didnt get killed by the prop hiting the water? Because it also will belly slide on Land and the result seems the same as when you ditch on the water.

yeah I had 3dsmax6 for a while but I returned it for a refund and its no longer on my hard drive so i just have pics and the pb4y2 and B-24d 3ds files saved on a disk unfinished.

pb4y would be the ultimate Main arena bomber and its similar enough to the B-24 to make it and variations not to difficult.

More like a pt boat but I'm sure it isn't that simple. (Think sea/land transitions at the ramps - gear up/gear down config - ocean takeoffs) :)

The game needs better water physics before we ask for seaplanes. Sink planes first. Sea planes later. ;)

I wouldn't put the Catalina high on the list.

Drop your gear for a water langing, Mugz. The game needs a better ocean physics model before we start going with seaplane hybrid designs methinks. ;)

Please elaborate. This subject is of great interest to me.
What changes or add ons do we need for the sea?

Other than it being nothing more than a blue surface to ditch a plane on, you mean? You want a sea plane but you really don't want sea, it seems. The seas and oceans move, bro. Airplanes that aren't seaplanes sink. Sometimes even seaplanes do. ;)

Catalina .... the flying pt boat? I don't think so.

:D
