What's it all about?

OK...I gave my off the cuff remark...now.

In events, I fly like my life depends on it.

In the other sims, (WB's for one) I would fly the HA like my life depended on my skills.

Now, When it comes to a MA, what's the big deal about score?

Please...pretty please...HA! err..after 1.05.

Santa..

Yup. I hear yah; and what yah say is gospel, as far as it goes... MA tends to kinda crimp yer K/D if you work with yer buds in a target-rich hostile enviornment with an eye towards obtaining an objective on the map instead of on the score page.

I guess like most of us that have been here awile the MA scenery and dweebery is gettin stale for you as well as me   Sure wish we had a HA... (hang laments) ...or v1.05 AND a HA.

Then we could log on, hop into the HA and squint at each other over our respective gunsights with a different mindset.. and do something besides quakebirds EVERY night.

I fly for truth, justice, and the american way.....wait a minute that was someone else.    I just love to fly, 'specially when I get to shoot at someone.

OK....here goes.

For me it's simple...my only goal is to kill the enemy and land those kills...does that make me too careful? Well, that depends on the situation...1v1 I'll spend my E quickly to force the bandit to commit to a manuever...if he makes a mistake, I've got him, if not, then I extend and take another shot at it, on MY terms not his.

When flying with my sqd mates, a more agressive approach is needed in 2v2 or 3v3 engagements....I tend to not get in a hurry in these situations, which can sometimes cause problems for my sqdmates. Hang and I have very different mindsets regarding this type of fight, but we are squadmates and will only get better the more we fight together

Being a member of the 13th TAS, an all Pony squadron, lends itself to a different mindset. I believe the 51 is a superior fighter when flown correctly, using it's strengths wisely. However, slow this bird down for an extended time, especially low alt, and your asking to die.

As a squad, we benchmark our performance by K/D and K/S. Our goal as a squad, is to keep our k/d above 4.0 and our k/s above 2.0...we may not achieve this, but it's fun to try Until HTC changes the scoring system, this will have to suffice.

I personally care about killing and landing my kills....to fly a sortie, kill 4 or 5 bandits, just to get shot down myself, is a total waste of time. The challenge is to kill 4 or 5 and successfully land those kills. Now to accomplish that is fun for me...for someone else to dictate to me what is fun and what is not, well, that's silly.

How others in this community have fun is none of my business. I may not understand their reasoning, but I have no right to criticize how they fly this sim I am selfish in that I fly for MY personal enjoyment, not to please others.

For the ten years I've been doing this, I have always admired the pilots who killed with impunity...they were kinda untouchable.

I know that when I'm runnin away from some of you, it doesn't make you happy...however, when I come bak after you've forgotten all about me and I kill you, it makes me very happy

Different strokes I guess...would kinda be a boring place if we were all of the same mold.

<S> to all of you!

I don't give a damn about score. I only could streak, and perhaps K/D ratio, but I keep track of all my kills on paper and figure those out myself.

1.  I fly for $29.95.... so far

2.  Never cared about score, streak or K/D

3.  Won't care about perks either, cuz won't get one. Score will be critical to the perk system and flying some super dooper plane for one sortie only to be shot down in it isn't worth the time to think about it.

Another mis-informed individual.

You will get perk points whether you like it or use them, or not.  It accumulates from tour to tour...so you're gonna get them.  I'll ask if HT can transfer Perk Points from one player to another, then you can give your to me if you're gonna feel guilty about having them...

But in answer to the man's question, guess I'm a number 1.

i fly for 2 things

1: to kill
2: to live

personally I cant see how anyone can run up 9/1 k/d ratios and have 300+kills with no deaths. I try to live every time i leave the ground and i've never had better than 2/1 k/d ratio.

#1 now. Although i used to be a #2 (but only as a guide for relative improvement between tours)
Having said im a #1 i still wont do really dumb things (most of the time) and will always try to rtb. I hate giving people kills more than loosing a 'life'.
