does anyone remember in AH1 that every now and then someone would just say 'hi' on channel 1 and then logoff again.

this in itself is nothing interesting BUT, this guy had no name.
he did not show on the roster and never did i kill or get killed by him.

just wondered if anyone knew what thats all about, not really a serious post.

maybe, but i am almost sure that this is not the reason.

the guy had no name at all.

his ch1 text read:

:hello

unless he made his callsign two hits of the space bar, then i would say it was HTC messing around (doubtfull) or some kind of crazy hacking nutter playing games.

i noticed it at least on four seperate occasions and days.

maybe ch1 is haunted!!

that is the reason, most likely someone with dial up or they have alot of other programs running. enter the game and say hey before it is finished loading everything, it will appear

Its because the server hasn't loaded his name onto the roster yet. If you go into a server (in AH1, dunno bout 2) and type something the moment you go in, more than likely it will show up with no name. Anyone could do it, just not many typed anything before their name got loaded up.

Not much bat, just waitin to get back into the swing of things. Ordered my new PC a while ago, order got screwed up, they sent me the wrong thing twice, now I gotta wait another week or 2 to get it.

But im being patient and havent blown up.... yet.

i ordered a new vid card last week and it still hasnt come!

starting to halucinate LA-7s in my room chasing my cat again......

I think your right about the ghost thing, probably some guy who got so caught up in the game it actually became real life for him. Then one night while sitting at a spawn point in a GV he gets ambushed and killed. Well normally he would have jumped on the BB complaining about cheaters and stuff like that, but since he actually died all he could do was haunt channel 1.
Infact I hear thats the real reason that HT got rid of it. It had nothing to do with the useless chatter. It was to hide the secret that this really isnt a game, and that after time it becomes real life.

IIRC the "cat" is an excellent T&Ber and would eat the LA7 fer lunch....leterally
