While ballistics seem the same, hitting is much harder due a notorious aircraft nose bouncing like a crazy horse when "fine-aiming" and firing. Anyone else suffering this effect? I checked joy calibration/scaling and all seems ok.

Hey Godo,

I was wondering the same thing. It seems when I get in real close the nose does not stay there like it used to. The jury is still out for me tho. I need to spend the time to play with my stick. I guess the old settings are not good enough any longer.

I had to back off on my stick sensitivity. Especially on rudder inputs. Did some slider fiddling, not done yet. A tweak or two more..

Ive heard some CH sticks cause intense nose bouncing. You use CH?

Mine bounces too unless I've trimmed for the speed I'm going. The bounce happens from trying to hold the nose down or up while trying to also follow the target and press the trigger at the same time. I guess that combat trim might help with this, although I don't use it. I had to deal with this issue in AH1 as well, but the bullet dispersion was less pronounced, so you could get hits even with a bouncy nose. That doesn't work so good any more.

I believe that this is a realistic problem - I just read an account of a SpitIX pilot bouncing a low flight of FW190s over France - he recounts having to trim several times as his speed built up to avoid skidding his sights off target. He held fire until ~200 yards out. His wingman flew through the debris from the exploding 190 and was killed in the ensuing crash landing.

Mine bounces ALOT too. The only way I have managed to deal with it has been to NOT shoot when zoomed in. I will zoom in to watch the enemy's movements etc, but right before I open fire I zoom out to shoot. By that time they are so close anyway, so I don't need to be zoomed in.

Bounce is way worse when zoomed in for me.

I have a Cougar.

I always trim as I get closer, the problem does seem that when you zoom it gets a little sensative. I had to tweak my settings for AHI, I need to go in and see if I can adjust out the bouncing for AHII. I was hoping my settings would work from AHI to AHII. No big deal as long as I can fix it with my settings.

Was having this problem to. My solution was to hit the combat trim just before I fire, it seems to steady it up for a few seconds

Yep, I've got a CH and it is all over the place. Most likely because of the terrible design in the base which causes a rough tension line in the center of the X axis when moving the Y axis. I've found the best way to shoot down planes. Instead of getting directly on their six where most of you are having a hard time aiming and getting hits off. Hold your fire until they pull away, when they do, jerk hard on the stick to get a nice lead and fire quick short bursts. - It usually takes a wing or two off. Works in the p51 atleast.

Because of the improved gunnery, fire at your target when he shows the most surfaces visible to you - in the beginning/middle of a bank.

I wonder if there's some type of bubble glass effect or extreme perspective going on. I notice if you line up on a target from a distance, it will all of a sudden shoot off to one side of the piper as you get closer. Its as if small errors aren't apparent till you get close, then they seem to triple in size. Its almost feels like the windshield is a bubble now and not flat. Feels like the view has switched from a flat 150 mm lens in AH1 to a 25 mm lens in AH2.

Then again, it could be the FM and aircraft are slipping more.

I haven't noticed an unusual or unacceptable amount of nose bounce in AH2. I'm using all CH Products USB stuff.

I use CH stuff.. The p38 is the worst for nose bounce.. Dont notice it much in anything else..
