you panderers crack me up... Powell could pee in your drink and you would thank him.   He is a reasonably well spoken man and mediocre military mind.

redtail is correct.. he is a democrat in republican clothing but...closer to the average American than kerry say.

Well given that the country is looking for someone with some credibility and professional appeal in the Administration Colin just stands out all the more.

If anyone who considers him less than reasonably well spoken the least one can do is read at least excerpts from his book "My American Journey."

He's more well spoken than most.

after I stopped laughing, I was impressed (even more than I have always been with the man).

to willingly and soberly be willing to make that big of a fool of yourself, (especially while you know it's being taped) takes a confident man.  a guy who is not trying to fool anyone (including himself ) about who he is.

don't know if my ego would have let me do it.  actually thats a lie, there is no way in hell I would have done it.

I just figured out the whole entire meaning of this! ... And it is profound....

Watching this was tantamount to walkin' in on and catching your parents having sex.

Grim, yes. Very.

But a little peice in the back of your mind is kind of reassured... like, well, at least they're still gettin' some.

My name is Nash.

what makes you think he is more than mediocre?  Shwartzkof was more than mediocre..  powell seemed very cautious and not very agressive.  He also seems to not be very confident and prone to making decisions based on what people tell him he should do.

I have read some of his book and he is "reasonably" well spoken or.. his ghost writer is... either way, no standout.

If he wasn't colored you wouldn't even know who he was.   He is like a woman nasscar driver.

I don't know if he is or isn't.  But you said he was, and I was wondering what you are basing that conclusion on.

This goes against what I read in Clancy and Frank's book about the Gulf war.  But I guess it depends on how one looks at it.  One man's agressiveness is anothers foolhardiness and needless risk.  One man's cautiousness is another man's "protecting the troops from needless risk".
