So long all.  It's been great over the past 3 years flying with and against you.  However, I've found that the game performance in the new version to be unacceptable.  The new features doe not make up for the seriously poor video performance (lag/jitter/freeze).  I wish all of you the best of luck

I'm sorry to see you go Panthr, it's been a pleasure flying with you.

I'm not able to play AH2 at all with my computer, I plan on upgrading but first I have to finish remodeling my bathroom/kitchen and one of my apartments. I hope to be back on sometime in August, until then I'm looking forward to flying with all of you again.

Its been a great pleasure flying with the AK as Bish for so long.
You will be missed.
PS...duno how long before i might have to pull the plug. Hope never...But its looking kinda ify at this time. I just feel kinda ripped off
Maybe we can have a convention. hehehe
Welp...if yas come back and im still here. Say Hey. :)
PS....you can get your old CPID back if you return to AH, at a cost....All your perks and game points will have to be reset to 0. But it was worth it for me.
gl and stay well Salute ~

Have any of you ever thought about upgrading your PC's?

"I find the performance unacceptable."

Well, let's see. AHII has much better graphics than AH, and that requires a better system for it to run smoothly.

Think about it this way. If you can afford to pay $15 a month for this, you can probably afford to pay $195 for a Radeon 9800 Pro from Newegg (the one with 256-bit, L-Shaped RAM).

I find your attitude unacceptable, because the framerates are easily fixed by just a few upgrades. And there's no excuse for you to have such an old, out-dated piece of junk.

These people worked on this game for quite a long time, and you bash their work just because your horrible, good-for-nothing computer can no longer run it at 60fps. Methinks somebody is just a bit spoiled.

Not a problem with overall framerate.  I get anywhere from 40 to 80 fps.  It's the constant video jitter/lag/freeze that makes the game unplayable.

As to upgrading my system, I have a wife, 2 kids, mortgage, car payment etc etc, so I dont have the $1500 to $2000 to sink into a new computer.  If you have the excess cash - I can use it.

Fruda, if i am having problems with the latest patch 5, using a p4 3.2 and radeon 9800 pro would you like to tell me to upgrade as well ?

And its the jittering at low level thats a problem with current patch for me.
All previous versions ran without problems.

An upgrade won't help but I'm sure the problems will be resolved. Hope to see you back soon Panther.

I REALLY hate seeing another well respected & skilled player leave the arena.
Don't pay any attn to Fruda, AKpanther {don't wanna listen to closely to guy thats posted SIX times:rolleyes: }
Again we have another lost soul who thinks the if you spend the $$$ for a faster/better system you'll be rewarded with "graphics" that are beyond something you'd find in DX7.0, this is not the case.

Nevertheless, hate to see ya go

Sorry to see ya go AKPanther, hope you'll be back soon.

Apart from trees and bigger cities I don't see much in the way of 'improved' graphics over AH1.

As far as an attack on HTC...Tough Cookies. Its a product that is paid for every month.

Performance issues with AH2
We've been working on performance and stability issues that some people have had. It's been problematic for us because fixing an issue on one particular card/driver/memory configuration can create new ones for a different config that was working fine before. There's been quite a bit of work done in this area, but before we put it out in patch form, we plan to make it an optional download. We hope to have this ready to go tomorrow. We appreciate your patience if you're having a problem. Our efforts have been totally committed to getting these issues resolved.

There must be some catalyst  that's accounting for the difference between two otherwise identical setups.  Whether that's a setting in the card options, a background process, whatever, we don't know what it is yet.  We're trying very hard to duplicate what's been reported.  We've been swapping out video cards, changing card settings, changing drivers, changing bios settings, everything we can think of trying.  The solution will probably be simple, finding the cause is what's proving to be tough.

Yep...the Performance is unacceptable.
Yes they are working on it. Seems that if it was acceptable....they wouldnt need to work on it eh?

Ever though about researching the BBS and seeing how many report the same problems using your " Radeon 9800 Pro". Ever thought about NOT being an prettythang?
Ever thought about just a cordial sending off?
Ever thought about SHUTING IT!? Your Pie Hole dat is.!

Sorry to cya go Panthr. Always enjoyed mixing it up with the AKs. Always a good fight. I can surely understand your reasons though. Been thinking along the same lines myself. Come back in a few months and DL the free 2 weeks, maybe they'll have it running right by then.

Lighten up Fruda, the man just came to say goodbye.  Seems to me he has enjoyed the game enough in the past but has priorities to consider above and beyond needing to upgrade to play a game.  More pwer to ya panther!
