here in TO i have digital HDTV with about 400 channels...i get live broadcasts from L.A., Seattle, Chicago, Buffalo, NYC, Boston, Atlanta and many others....very few of them are HDTV signals though....I treated myself to a top-of-the-line SONY Wega XBR HDTV flatscreen not too long ago..and never enjoyed watching TV more than now.

My favourite HDTV show is Sopranos. Wathcing this in HDTV is fabulous. Highly recommended.:aok

Is your SONY model an LCD, PLASMA, CRT, PROJECTION CRT, or PROJECTION DLP* (Digital light processing... designed by Texass electronics as a lightweight alternative to PLASMAs)

If your TV set is a plasma... BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Plasma sets are susceptible to "burn-in" if you watch CNN or FOX NEWS for a long time :)

I hate all the new TV's.  They're all plastic cheap-looking things that sell for asinine prices (I have to laugh when I see a $7000 TV advertised as being some sort of "deal").

I like my TV.  It's and RCA with wood cabinet and legs, and it fits in nicely with the rest of the furniture of the room.

I was looking into getting a LCD, Plasma or RPTV (still might go for a Pioneer Elite) but I have pretty much decided on the Loewe Aconda 38".   It uses the best glass on the market and nothing can come close to "black level" translation than a CRT.
