Kweassa, I happen to be one of those you are discussing that doesnt give a damn about gameplay.
NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE would play this game if all they wanted was graphics. I run my game on low settings even though I dont have to. I just want to be able to dogfight.
Ive played Air Warrior I, II, and III. I still bust out Wolfenstein on a weekly basis and get my fill of killing nazis. Hell, I even play pacman all the time.
You're one of the old guys if you've been around to play AWDos or Castle Wolfenstein.
What I'm talking about is the kids, still in schools, with their first flight sim experience being something like IL2/FB or MS FS2004. People like us, remember the days of 'Chuck Yeager's Aircombat' or 'Aces of Pacific'.
The current customers of AH are adults, who lived through 70s and 80s. We're getting older, and soon the people who grw up in the late 90s and still growing up at the new millenium, are gonna become potential customers in the next five years.
And by the way, I hold a job, I pay for Aces High, I bought every component for this computer, and I also built it myself. Im sorry, but your remarks are uncalled for, and you have made the false assumption that my generation has lost sight of what makes anything good.
Where did I ever say you've lost sight of what makes anything good?
All I said was that preferences greatly differ between generations. To most of us playing AH currently, we like it better than IL2/FB or so because we like the game itself and how it is played out.
To the younger generation who have been baptitized and bombarded with visual technologies since birth, graphics is essentially part of the gameplay. No matter how fun it is, they not gonna be interested in it if there's another contendor with better graphics available. It's how the gaming world goes. The gaming world to the PC industry, is what the military is to science - there is a constant rush to keep up with the tech curve, and this tendency grows by the day, as more and more powerful systems become cheaper and cheaper.
We're becoming ancient, dudes.
You might want to think twice before you generalize "those people".
You might want to read more carefully between the lines, before you generalize my intent.
