Since new patch
If I change anything like the res or texture size when I go into game there is NO tunnel before blackout just goes straight to black screen.
If I exit game totally then relog, it is OK - for a while.

I had this some patches ago when I changed video config and didn't  completly close AH2 and restart it again. It didn't happen when I didn't change anything in video settings ingame or login screen.

check your sound..

I could be your sound acceleration in the direct x9 settings..
run/DXDIAG/sound acceleration. move it up a notch if youve turned it down.
