test patch working fine-frame rates still 60 to 80's-stutters are gone with default texturs of 256-loaded 1024 and noticed some stuttering but may have been from some textures still loading.

for the first 60 - 90 min had very bad stutters, those were almost completely gone after that time.

Raised the default 512 to 1024, game went pretty good after the stutter period.

Framerates seemed to be a bit lower.

System:

P4-2.6 GHZ, FSB 800, 1 Gig RAM, SB Audigy 2, Atir Radeon 9800 Pro w/128 MB.

Will test more Tommorrow.

More stutters for me, although frame rate much better.  Was running at 1600x1200 with 512 textures, all detail on about full.

Also got large square white pixels instead of sprites when hitting aircraft (happened only once).

Installed it.

Ran it ... it loaded some stuff.

Clicked to go online.

Clicked OK at the password screen.

Tried Multiple times ... same result
Installed it.

Are you using Zone Alarm? Might need to give the test exe permission to access the internet.

If that's not it, then nevermind.

2nd report.
well I thought it might get better as time wnet along due to loading textures, etc. This is not the case so far.
The sttuters have gotten increasingly worse and now the FRs are flucuating a great deal (this is a new twist. My FRs have been pretty solid up until now).
On two entrys everything loaded OK until I put the palne on the runway. I was then getting a cockpit instrument panel with the instruments being white blocks, then immediately I got the ole Host Connection lost.

I still get the vid memory build up( I know Im supposed to get it) but, what happenes is I enter the game at 40 or so and it climbs to 80+ then I get CTD with most any map function like Tower, joystick settings, and so on. I have to relog into the game every 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to prevent this problem..Alt/tab dosent cure the CTD  This happens to many members in my squad..

Started with default setting, 256 text. mip off, sliders 75% towards perf. Frps. increased to around 30 - 45, offline. So I tried upping texture, and lost frame rate increas, but game was playable with a steady 15-25 fps.

Went back to original settings and noticed I can put mip on with no change and even moved ground detail to midway point. I gues  i'm saying it's the same , but more solid fps, less up and down on the fps.

I'll try online tomorrow, but I see there's a new patch, so online results will be with patch included.

so far so good.

I put my initial report in a separate posting.  The test patch DID NOT help my performance, but did have an effect.

IT IS WORSE!!! NOT GOODER!!! LESS BETTER!!!

The stutters are more frequent, and come at the worst possible time (when I am closely engaged with a plane).  They are making the game unplayable now, whereas it was merely difficult two days ago.

I am playing with everything at default, which is (on my system)

Detail level ~50% toward performance
Displayed object size ~75% toward performance
Ground detail range ~65% toward .5 mile
1024 X 768, max texture size 256
Horizon, transitions, and terrain mipmapping all unchecked.

Since upload of the patch today, I was on for about half an hour, and left in disgust when the third plane I saddled up on simply went 'somewhere else' while I watched stutter after stutter after stutter for about 10 seconds.  My weakest system link is far and away above the published "minimum configuration" to play.  Here's the Dxdiag:

I did not get to try out the test version, but I got my first bug events with patch 5.

1) long high beep sounds in panzer while firing.

2) CTD - as I recall I was flying a dora

3) framerate drop drastically

AMD 1800+, radeon 8500, SB audigy, 756Mt

I will post more information of my later when I get home.
