Has something changed with ground handling in AH2?

I've had a look through the help files; but didn't see anything in them.

Problem seems to be:

The plane will either go straight on; regardless of rudder position, or;

The plane will try to pirouette regardless of rudder position.

The plane shows no indication that the individual wheel brakes (C & V keys) have any effect.

I should point out that this is at low throttle openings while attempting to taxi to the rearm pads.

I've not made a successfull rearm yet; I lose it either on the way to the pad (and arn't THEY well sigted

) or broken wings off trying to get off the pad.

My toe brakes work for L&R brake...........

If you wish to "lock" the tail wheel then pull the stick back 25% however then the effect of the toe brakes and rudder is heavily damped............

Let me see if I can explain this.

In real tail draggers, if for example you give a/c left rudder, the tail will swing to the right, causing the nose to turn left. However the inertia/weight of the a/c will keep this twisting/turning behavior in motion until countered by application of RIGHT rudder.

Same thing if you initially apply right rudder. tail will swing to the left causing nose to turn right until countered by application of LEFT rudder to stop it.

I suggest you practice in offline mode, with exterior view on. This will more readily show you the degree to which is a/c is digressing from the runway center position and help you anticipate corrective rudder action.

This is a significant FM improvement. It gives you a taste of what real tail dragger ground handling is like.
